Some cool races I seen yesterday

Hi guys what's up? Just wanna let ya know some races I seen, Here goes.

First Race: 1989 Camaro IROC-Z, 350 TPI, not sure if he was stick or auto vs. 2000 Eclipse GS-T: They lined up and the let off, The Camaro had him off the start by a big shot and then the Eclipse caught up slowly and then I heard something on the Camaro and he must have floored it and he kicked the crap out of the Eclipse
Winner: Camaro

Second Race: My 92 XR5 vs. Corsica LTZ
Well my friend was curious as to which car is faster, His car is auto while mine is a 3.0 V6 DOHC 5 speed. We lined up, I held it to 3 grand and let off the clutch, ****TY LAUNCH! Tires spun a bit, He gained on me but once I hit second, I caught up to him real fast, By 80 I had him by 3-4 cars.
Winner: XR5

And the last one: 1982 Z28 Camaro vs. 2000 Ford Contour SVT
Camaro is crossfire fuel injected with auto while the SVT is 5 spd stick, I believe the SVT's were almost 200 hp stock.

They lined up, The took off, Camaro got a lead off the start but the Contour caught up and by the end he had the Camaro by about 2-3 cars, SVT Contour was pretty cool!

Anywayz, That's all for now.

Later, Rob

Oh man, let me tell you...these guys don't take to well to too many eyewitness accounts. I listed about 14 several years back on camaroz28.com...and let's just say, if it was physical instead of online, I would have been lynched.

Anyway, however you're getting to view all of these races, good for you. Damn, I wish I could. I don't even get many races anymore. The Crown is running like crap because of the fuel lines, pump, and filter. Also I believe the cats are clogged and the tranny needs adjusted. The Olds is on hold and the truck is miles off-also on hold. The only thing that's running descently is the Topaz. And it's idling erratically and overheating at idle. Simple but irritating problems all round.

IF it was REALLY a gs-t, that first race would suprise me.. However, 2000's (the new eclipse body style) are the v6 kind and are about the same if not a little slower than my car.. So 2-3 cars sounds about right and it could have been a bad driver.. That makes sense.. If it is a 99 GS-T, I think it would have been a little closer unless the GS-t couldn't launch very well.. A GSX would have been a much better race..

The other 2 don't suprise me..

You can't tell a pushrod motor from a DOHC without stickers? I just seen you did it again .

It has two camshafts on the top, Wouldn't that make it a DOHC? It's not a sticker either

Hey you all SEEN it. My bad. 3.0 DOHC sounds nice with a 5 speed but it has to be FWD. A T-bird super coupe would be better.

Supercoupe, huh? Nice car. But here's a question: some doofus where my brother works thinks that his 95 4.6L T-bird has:
1)240 hp stock
2)320 hp now after a K&N and chip
3)20+ more hp when he gets dual exhaust.

Would I be correct in assuming that he can't see the forest for his a$$? I think that's how that saying goes.

If you want to get technical..
Instead of talk, try 'speak.'
You too have been victimized by that same tree!

You're one to talk, I did the same to you in that other post, where you proceeded to call me a "bitch" and say I wasn't talking to you.

Just...thought I'd point these things out.

Able Kane, I know what you mean about wanting to be able to see more races... I've just been to busy to. My grandfather and uncles are in a Corvette club called "Corvette Troy" (based out of Troy, OH). Man, I love watching them race. But now it's getting close to winter time. I think they only have one left...

ok, to be technical, Ford DOHC 3.0L engines went into Taurus', Sables' and Probes. The XR5 has the V6 "Vulcan" engine... Well my 95 Taurus SE had it and it was slow as hell. Same valve covers, intake manifold, and everything just like the pic on that link. As for Thunderbirds with the 4.6L, my friend has one. It has a rev-limiter at 100mph and i lost to it stock by a nose. His car he bought with like 30,000 miles on it and i had 173,000 and two bad cylinders when he took me. He is afraid of my car now because he's heard, "stories"

No, I don't think I am. All you have to do is confront them and that will usually take care of it (worked previously). So thats why I made that post. I know both of Camaro_1986_19 and jocww have made some intelligent posts and I have posted there to support there statements. However when I see stupid stuff like this happening I have to jump in and do something to stop it.
