I was wondering a few things of who would win .. I have a 1991 firebird v-8 with the 305 .. i have the k&n filter, no cat and just had it tuned however its an auto .. now my friend has a 1989 mustang gt and it has a k&n and thats it .. who would win in a race oh and his is a manual .. he always says he can beat me .. and his his mustang sounds really nice without having an after market system .. we have yet to race .. and i was wondering if he could really beat me .. And one other question .. my other friend has a 1987 firebird v-6 tuned port fuel injection (i can't remeber if its twin port or tuned port) and it also has a k&n was also recenlty tuned and has a ram air hood .. he also said he can beat me (its an auto) i was just wondering who would win that race ( im 99% sure i would ) however i don't wanna go out and race a v-6 and get beat and look very dumb in fornt of everyone one .. thanx for ur replies

I think the GT would beat the 305..
Depends on which 305 it is though. I'm assuming it's not TPI..

Yeah a 5.0 mustang should beat a 5.0 third gen. You will kill the v6.

ya the five-oh is gonna cream ya but the v6 should be easy pickings. good luck!

Firebird, so that means you have TBI, meaning that GT will crush you, even an auto GT would take you.

Even a 305 TPI w/ a 5-speed G-92 would lose to a 5.0 GT Mustang with a 5 speed. As for your buddy with the V-6, spank him .

I don't agree 100% here.

If the guy in the 5.0 can't drive you could take him, and if he had an auto, you would take him too. For put some of the crappiest gears in the autos that killed tham in the 1/4. Still he has the 5-speed so the auto thing doesn't matter.

Remember in the race it is all going to be on the driver of the Mustang!!! But if he has a good run, he should win!

Yeah i kinda thought the stang would take me .. I have rode with him a few times and when he gets on it man they have some kick .. now the kid with the v-6 he let me drive his car once and i let him drive mine .. it was just down the rode but still i wanted to see what it had .. i stomped it and it felt like i was going the same speed as before.. and when we got back to my house hes like man that v-8 sounds nice but its slow .. i know i can take it .. i was just like whatever .. He also said that his model was the pace car version and that he read it could do 0-60 in like 4.9 seconds .. now i don't think it was the 1987 .. correct me if im wrong but wasn't that the 1989 .. but even if it was the 1987 .. he didn't get the pace car version cuz his is SLOW

Yeah I think you mean the TTA, that was in 89, and it was turbo'ed.

The 5.0 manual will stomp you no doubt. It's the auto stangs that are the ones you might be able to take because the AOD trannies really sucked in the Mustangs.

Yes the AODs suck, the best thing I ever did was remove mine for a 5-speed!
