My most fun night of Streetracing!

Well I just noticed this topic area and figured I would share one of my most memerable nights of streetracing. It was a few months age, I was in Indy where I have herd there is some wicked streetracing on Pennsylvania St. which is a few miles long and had no crossing streets till you get about 1.5 miles down. So I figured I would check it out. My first trip around the circle I spoted my first potential victum, a late 80's stang. The usual cocky kid driving reved at me and turned on pennsylvania street, so I followed. We come to the first light and he revs agine, I reved back, the light turned green and we nailed it. Off the line we were neak and neak till I got the tires to hook. Then right away I pulled a car on him, I shifted into 2nd with a shimmy and got another car on him. I ran up to 70 and hit 3rd, and he was about 3-4 cars behind me. We were coming up on 120 and I was expecting him to start to gain with him having a 5-speed but he didnt, his car was starting to smoke and he let off. I slowed down cause I seen a stop light comming up, we were at the middle of the pennsylvania strip, and the a mid 90's Eclips pulls out of a parking lot and comes up beside me. He looked over at me and creeps up alittle, I crepped up alittle more. The light turned green and we took off, I jumped him hard out of the hole, I herd his turbo spooling up behind me and I started to see his bumper in my passenger side window. Then he shifted and dropped right back to my bumper, then I shifted into 3rd gear and he was right back up on me. I seen we were comming up to another light, so I was gettin ready to let out, right befor I did he stabbed the breaks. I was glad, I did want my night screwed up buy some import claiming to have beat me. We pulled into a parking lot and talked alittle, come to find out his best E/T was very close to mine, a 14.5@97 was his best and a 14.4@94 is my best. We left and I pulled out onto the road and was heading back toward the circle to find someone else to race when I seen a black 3rd gen flying up on me FAST! All I could see was the amber glow of his shift light when he passed me. At that time I had both windows down and the t-tops out and all I could smell was sulfur! He was spraying it pretty good! When I got back to the circle I hollard at him and asked him what he had, he didnt give much info other than it ran 11.60's@120 and that he was doing 165mph when he passed me! Sorry for the lenght but I was having fun with my streetracing tails. Thanks for reading.

Cool.

You should really paint the headlight pockects the correct black, it would make your car look alot better, the hood is a little off too, I think you can move the stops and help that, not sure though.

Im gettin ready to do a total repain and get the chitty body work, soon. I had the headlights black and I didnt like them. Im gonna remove all the IROC decals and strips and add an SS hood with the top of the scoop painted like the 4th gen ZL1. I cant get the hood right I think the hinge is messed up.

I dont think that guy was doing 165 if he runs 11s at the track. If he has it set up for strip and street there is no way.
Any way one night there was a tubbed 86 truck racing everyone and kicking everyones but.So I told some 19 or 20 year old punks I was going to race that truck and they looked at my 85 Camaro and was yea right. So I talked to the guy and we lined up and my buddy told them kids I was going to win and they laughed. So when the race started I jumped a car on him and never trailed I beat him my 3 cars.I know he was a high 11 second truck.A few weeks later I was told the truck was for sale.Any when I came back after the race those kids were holding my parking spot for me.It was so funny.

ive bared the needle in my iroc a few times (i have almost all the suspention/traction mods i can think of minus 17 inch rims)... imho, for some reason anything past 140 mph seems a bid scary in a(my) 3rd gen. i was in a friends vette and he did 175.. didnt really seem that bad *very stamble* ive also been in a few other cars and driven a few other cars and have done 130's-180's and to me 3rd gens seems to scare the hell out of me going that fast.
