Hey yall I was just reminiscing about my first car and I was wondering if anybody knew some facts about these beasts


a year ago i had my 83 monte carlo SS and i loved that car... only problem was the dood before me that had got hit by someone and never fixed anything. but the only thing i ever did to it was the holley dominator carb... i really loved that car and it NEVER broke down on me, and i wasnt the nicest driver

but what kind of HP do they put out and what about 1/4s and 1/8s????

do yall think my 5 spd 350 carbed camaro could beat it with an edelbrock intake manifold?

I agree. Stock the 83 monte wasn't anything to write home about, the L69 was rated at 180hp I believe and the monte isn't really a "light" car per se so it didn't do so hot in the 1/4. With a proper jetted aftermarket carb and matching distributor the numbers will improve somewhat I'm sure...

 

U would win easy with the Camaro, My friend had an 81 or 82 with a 350 auto and I raced him in my old 86 Camaro coupe with the auto LG4, stock, totaly wasted him.

 

Dang... I love my camaro but i really miss that monte carlo

it was really a blast to drive... at least i could spank most of the R*cers around here. hehe

I definitely spank most of them with the camaro tho...
