Depends on the race. Stoplight to stoplight is you, top speed is him, and from a roll is probably him. Use your torque to your advantage. He also may lose because his car will kill itself for having those rims

Hmmm, your car is low 15's, his probally high 15's if it is a GT-S. If it is not a GT-S you will rape him very badly. Even a GT-S you will beat.

Oh yea, and for a more accurate estimate, we need to know more about his car. What kind is it, GTS? Any mods? More information is needed. But my last post is the outcome is if he is stock or slightly modded (intake, exhaust).

I don't think the celica has a chance no matter how you slice it, assuming it doesn't use ricejuice (N2O). I don't think any of the newer Celicas are a threat. Now an older tweaked turbo all trac Celica I may worry about a bit, but those have more mass to overcome than any 3rd gen F-body (they were like 3800 lbs.). Good luck!

From a roll you will be memorizing the plates on the Celica.

From a light...you will be laughing all the way home.

Are you talking about the Celica GT-Four? Those were rally cars, and they almost had 300hp. Nice cars, but you're right, they are heavy.

Matt86t/a...

The one I remember was just called "All Trac" I think. I have a magazine article (Motor Trend or Car & Driver, don't remember) from '91 or '92 with a bunch of cars including the Celica and both 1LE f-bodies. I think it only had like 210 hp, but I believe they had turbos so tuning these would actually be worth it. Were the GT-4's available at the showroom? I don't remeber them; the only thing that makes me think of is the Nissan Skyline GTR, which was an incredible car but only available in righthand drive as greymarket imports.

i actually just saw a early 90's turbo all track yesterday, hoods are kinda cool for a celica, they were showroom cars but they are rare as all hell today

The GT-Four was the all out rally car with AWD and a huge scoop on the front. It made 300hp easy and it won it's class for a while. They made a road version with AWD (All-Trac maybe?) for the public too which is the one you guys are thinking of. I think it was called the GT-Four too, but it was slower and street legal.

One of my best friend's has a 2000 Celica GT-S, auto tranny. It is NOT a quick car by any means, especially with the auto tranny that takes forever to find any power off the line. I think you should have him no matter how you race (stop, roll, etc.). You will LEAVE him from a stop though, especially if it's an auto.

I say just race him from a stop and roll and show him who is boss. Don't forget to post the results too. Good luck, but you most likely won't need it.

i think its goin to be a close race.. the GT-S (6spds) with good driver run 14.9 bone stock. the autos u can forget about.

i think you should take him though. let us know how you do against him.

GT-4 is one bad beast though from what I understand if you mod it right

with the GTS and good driver it should be goos race

but when you done I will challenge you to a real race with a real celica

The celica gts will only run 15.8 stock, 14's are out of the question. If you race from a dead stop it will be a very close race. From a roll, your done. Those things are meaner than hell with the vvtl-i crap at high rpms

2000-01 GTS ran a 14.9. the 02s were slower cuz of early fuel cutoff. i ran my friends GT-S back in the day and he was quick as hell top end. not too shaby. he pulled a 14.3 @ 97-98 at the track with ONLY intake. yup just intake.

If BORLAZ06 is right about the times, than you might not win this one. Who cares, race him anyway and race him hard. he might suck at driving and mess up. just do your best and hope for the best.

u should beat him no matter what
cuz my ... well if hes a friend now i dunno... but he had a 305 tpi stock... just flowmasters, and he raped one of each kind...
the car will prolly lose because the car will refuse to race any longer as long as the rims stay on... go celica! don't be treated like that...! STRIKE!

race him from a stop. even if you don't you should feel confident beating him with your decent gear ratio. I honestly think you will wipe the floor w/him.

Do a good burnout if you guys race from a stop... He's gonna spin like there's water under his tires with all of that weight transfer!

As far as all-tracs go the only thing i know about them is that they came with the mr2 engine the 3SGTE, which in the mr2 puts out 200hp i believe.

just remember toyotas marketing campaign for the celica. "looks fast" yup, looks fast, but is so slow it's sickening, just like almost every FWD import.

if nothing else the iroc would see the rims on that car and not know what to do. it wouldn´t be able to take the celica serious

hahaha, yea you'd better watch out, especialy once you hit the 150mph mark and make a sharp turn. He might get you there You should ask him how much faster his car is with the wing on it, and then you can race him again and beat him even worse
