88 Formula 350 vs 02 M3
88 Formula 350 vs 02 M3
this kid at school has an 02 M3(333hp V6 n/a) and im gunna race him end of this month or beginning of next. i Got a 88 formula 350 completely rebuilt with comp cam and headwork, headers, exhaust, airfoil, k&n, flowmaster exhaust, MAF removed, ported plenum. What do u think? I ran him real quick last year with my 89 which had a 350, flowmaster, gutted cats, k&n, airfoil, headers(which werent on when i raced him) and it was very close, he was from a stop, i was from a roll pullin up from behind him, and we went, and it was close, i think he mighta been able to just get ahead of me if we had enough street, we slowed down, came side by side and went at it again, same deal though. The only problem i think im gunna have when i race him is gettin the tires to stick. How do u think i should launch this car from a standstill?

want the edge, get some drag radials, LCAs, and if you've got the time and money, a higher stall converter. You'll hook like no other and launch like a bat out of hell, he'll never catch up.

With our cars it's all in the launch. I only give it about 75% pedal off the line and then punch it when I hook. Its always worked pretty good for me.
BTW I drove a 2002 4th gen LS1 Trans-AM today. The sucker hooks better than our cars can with more power and the TCS off! Just a side note.
