Consequences of reckess behavior?
I have just gotten another ticket and amassed too much points on my license. I will probably lose it this time. Now, it can be regained but I seem to have this paraniod fear of cops and tickets and I must ask this question: Can one ever lose their license permanently? If you can, what offenses do you have to commit to get that kind of punishment? What would prevent you from regaining it in another state? Or am I being too paraniod?
I have not too good a driving record right now so I'm really curious.

Laws vary state to state. But even if you lose your liscense for 1 year its still 1 year that you can't drive a car.
Don't think you can lose it permanantly unless you do some REALLY nasty stuff. Intentionally crashing a car, causing massive property damange repeatedly might be enough to do it.

I know a guy who has had like 7 DUI's, it's just a matter of time, you can get it back a few times. It's more a money thing...if your caught street racing I've heard of people in philly getting 3000$ tickets....I think some places will actually take your car. Other then racing...I don't think there is any reason to be getting a ticket....if you drive on a 65 doing 100 thats your own fault.

It's takes a lot to lose it forever. My uncle lost his a couple of times when he was young, but wasn't for any long stretch of time, just a few months or so after he went thru classes or something.

Depends for what kind of offences?? Some people have been pulled over for DUI half a dozen times and still have their licence. Makes you wonder?....
dude in missouri i have had a speeding ticket and a careless and imprudent driving ticket on two seperate occasions. when you go to court you can pay the ticket, or pay court fees, take a driving probation, and a driving class. if you do all that they will keep it off of your record and you dont get any points on your license. it ends up costing more now but it doesnt go on your insurance and your rates wont go up. i got off both my tickets doing this.
you should check into this and see if your state will allow you to do this so you can keep your license. worth a shot.

Thanks for the replies!
Quite honestly, this was more for future reference than for my immediate case. I think it is too late in the game for me not to lose my license now, but I will lose it for only 6 months during the North Dakota winter (driving a Camaro in the snow was never too fun anyway). I'll live.
But I'll admit that I also like to have fun. Not dangerous fun, like driving drunk or speeding through crowded parking lots. I normally don't even speed 5 over when I'm just driving from point A to point B. But sometimes on those open roads you just have to kick it down.
Peeling out and hearing the tires squeal is also my kind of fun, and is part of the reason I am losing my license. But I just don't want my nightmare that I seem to keep having come true. The one where I get a letter from the North Dakota District of Trasportation stating:
"Dear unsafe driver:
You have lost your license permanently. Please mail in you license within 14 days. Within a month of mailing in your license you will recieve a free months worth of bus tickets and a pamphlet of your local mass transit system. Also included is a brochure featuring todays best bike and rollerblade models.
Have a nice day!"
