91RS vs 91-93 Dodge Stealth
My neighbor has a 91-93(?) Dodge Stealth 3.0 V6 (166 hp) 5spd, stock, with the typical large tail pipe. I'm running a 305 LO3 (170 hp) with new heads, full dual exhaust aft of y- pipe, open air filter, and other misc. stuff (200+ hp). I think it might be close, it probably would depend on the launch. My 8 year old kid wants me to race him, and I think I'd ask him if I knew the RS could do it.... It's kinda funny there are several teens in the culdesac (?) that think Jap cars rule and American V8's are yesterdays news.

You should most likely win, although that TBI will be holding you back especially without reprogramming. The early stealth n/a is awfully slow (mid-high 16s) due to its 3500lb weight and crap power output. You should be solidly in the 15s with just the mods you've done, so let us know when you win, post a vid

Thanks! I'm also running a 5spd. I've gone to a 165 stat., removed the ring on top of TBI, using a non drop type, 3'' tall open filter, no converter on exhaust. glass packs on rear only...sounds great.
I've heard a basic chip will only make the fan come on earlier, I think I'm getting plenty of air, no signs of too much air. Should the next step be modifying the fuel pressure reg.
Thanks, Mark

you can never get too much air into the engine, just gotta make sure the fuel is there to back it up and it can get out...

Headers if you dont have them should be the next step . Then maybe a 3.42-3.73 gear . I didnt know that the stealths were that slow my friends stealth ran a 15.5 N/A but I dont know what he has done to it . Also he told me it had 200 hp . But I have no idea if he is right .Good luck.

make sure it isn't eh R/T non-turbo either. my friend has one that is stock and they made 222hp @6000 and 201lbs @4800. He took me in my 82z on everything but a stop. I pulled him from the line till i hit third, then he blew by. but still, you should beat him regardless, but don't underestimate, especially if he has a cat-back and maybe some other mods.
