Man this sucks guys, my first ticket ever. A 39 in a 25 school zone. Funny thing is there were no flashing lights to signal that it was in effect at the time. school had been out for i think 50 min.

So i have heard about paying double and it never goes to your rec and it wont affect insurance.

IS THIS TRUE? and how do i go about at it, i have to appear in court for it dont i?

I know there is a law here that states "if it is your first ticket and you plead guilty (pay it), then it will not go on your record. The only other thing you can do is ask your District Attorney to reduce it to a non moving violation. School zone infraction will probably not fare well with the latter of the two options. Talk with some of your friends and relatives to see if they know someone who knows the D.A.

If you have to.........Ask the judge when your court date comes up. Maybe Judge might feel sympathy.

Usually they will allow you to go to traffic school the first offense. I did and got it off my record.

I got my first ticket in August. I know the laws are different from state to state though. For me I am going to go on probation for 90 days, if I don't get another ticket then it's off my record. I could have taken defensive driving though and it would be off my record.
I love my county.

in cali we can got to driving school or you can get somebody to sign it off for you if u know the right people otherwise go to court and plead not guilty and if the pigpy doesnt show your off the hook you can do this all day and a judge will have to take away the ticket if the cop doesnt show to court and u do

If I remember correctly from my history of law class, school speed limits are only a half hour before and a half hour after the school has started. I am pretty sure that is the law, you should check into what times the school speed limit is actually in a effect. Because if there werent any flashing lights, then the school speed limit shouldnt be in effect.

I though if the cop didnt' show up, you still pay the $$, but it doesn't count against you on insurance and such.
