mr car vs any yr iroc or 5.0 mustang
well after finally fixing my good trans and putting the slp 2400 rpm stall back in , seeing as i have yet to be to the track and dyno how how my car below measure up to any yr 350 tpi auto or 5.0 mustag stock or mostly stock. what kind of number do you think i could do at the track? My goal was to be atleast that fast with the wonderful LO3 motor and th get into the 14's. before i start building a bigger motor . modes are in my signiture below. the only problem that i might see is traction myself but let me know your thoughts.
thanks

Making a LO3 fast is cool, but don't go out and try many mildly modded L98 (any year) or any 5.0 5 speed stangs. Your just dealing with less so you have less potential.

You will need a cam and some tuning to see 14's with an LO3. I know plenty of guys that have heads and cammed LO3's only running high 14's occasioanlly and low 15's all day. You need some more mods before you start beating them. But hey, look at it this way, at least now you can make excuses to go buy more mods.

I dont know if your completely right on that one shifty, no offense, i am not trying to call you out but I know guys with L03's with about his setup (better gears though ) running in the high 14's. ITs all about the right combo. Once you go into heads and cams thats when you have to do alot of prom tuning and what not, which I am sure you know. also I dont think many guys pick a tbi friendly cam, your right when you say that alot of guys with cams and heads run high 14's but with the right combo I think mid 14's can be done with the stock cam, probably not the heads though L03 heads suck, as for what your running bbtaz97 I would say high 14's are possible. I would get a little bit better gears and a little more suspension work.Thats awesome for an L03 though, you have my respect on that.Good Luck.

Shaved stock heads, chip, 160 thermostat, shift kit, high flow cat, MAC catback, Crane Compucam (not sure on specs), complete 3.73 posi disk brake rear from a 87 T/A. He noticed the largest gain from the rearend. I never go to take it for a spin with that in it. I'd say it had to be a low 15/high 14 car or so...
