LT1 VS Me

Hey a friend of a friend of mine has a thirdgen, With an LT1. T-56.

I got:

350 bored 30 over, lots of work done to engine.

Turbo 350 Tranny, Stage 2 Shift Kit

3.23 rear end

Just wonderin how much horse/torque the LT1 puts out. My engine has been dynoed at 330HP at the wheels, at close to 390 lbs of torque

Whatta think??

If those are your rear wheel numbers, you will beat a pretty stock LT1.

Yep if those hp numbers at the wheels are real, a swaped LT1/thirdgen should be no threat.

You will beat him if those are your numbers. Did he mod the Lt1 before the swap or is it bone stock. If it is stock with a full exhaust (I am assuming he does since it is pointless not to) he should put down around 270 to 300.

Yea but that is underrated like all recent GM V8 stuff. F-bod LT1's put about 300 at the crank or right at where GM rates the vette LT1. Never the less he should still beat the LT1 since it is stock.

well heres a short list:

1969
350, bored 30
Stroke Increase
Flat Top pistons
Steel Crank
Double Bump heads
Hardened seats
All new parts in here, from the gaskets, to the valves and springs

Its got a huge Cam in her, so you can really hear it when shes running, sleeper she is not
Compression is VERY high, I'm not sure on numbers, but it was rebuilt no more than 5000 k ago.

Tranny is Turbo 350, Stage 2 shift kit, 2600 stall convertor

Exhaust is all mandral bent, and is NOT true Duals. The Headers come into a 3.5" exhaust, that goes to a Flowmaster, Y's out to my 4" Tips

The rear end is just outta a 89 GTA, was rebuilt before droppin it in. Gears are 3.23.

The engine doesn't sound like I've done lots to it, but She flys. I've only put 8km, on the car since I bought it in Oct, Just today, I finished up a lot of the odds and ends, such as brakes, and fluids.

Up next is new brake hoses, pads. And just a couple of the xtras. Then if all goes right she will be on the road end of March.
