02 Civic Si vs. Me

One of my best friends has an 02 civic Si with K&N typhoon intake, HP header, and a muffler. they come factory w/ 160hp and they have the new I-Vtec i love the car it looks really nice. (Its a 5-spd also for those who didnt know they only come in a 5 spd). We were goin to a friends house the other night and he had his girlfriend in the car, i had my friend in mine we rolled up to a red light but it turned green before we fully stopped so we decided to go from a 25 mph roll he honked 3 times and we went well first of all he can downshift quicker than i can becuz of my auto tranny but we both got on it and he had a little bit of a lead cuz of his quicker down shift but i kept up for a little bit and he only pulled a car on me i shut down around 75-80. I was rather impressed but i think i would do better if we raced from a stop. My mods are in my sig.

Running from a stop doesn't automatically give you the win. You should take him out of the hole pretty good with your torque and gears but he'd be pulling on the high end...it would depend on when you shut down but if you went a full 1/4 I'd say it comes down to how well he drives his car.

yah i agree. if he launchs well you might not even get him off the line. he can launch around 5000rpm and be right in his power band. you might get him a bit off the line, but if he was pulling on you from a roll, expect the same results.

he said the guy downshifted faster and from a roll he kept right up with him and the guy didnt pull any really though a car isnt too much but it would still be a good race and all
