wut engine would make more power??

Hey guys me and my buddy built up a 327 for his bird and he thinks hes just going to crush me but my car feels alot faster then his does, IS it possible that I can come out on top? here are the combos starting with him. Its a smalls journal 327 with flat top pistons, 180cc Dart iron eagle heads, XE274 camshaft, Airgap intake, 670 streetavenger carb, and full MSD ignition, oh yea its bored .040. Ok heres what I have, 355 with flat tops, Vortec heads with machined guides, z28 springs and LT4 lightweigt retainers, XE274 cam, RPM intake, 750 edelbrock carb, and I also have Msd ignition. Ok guys so what do ya think?? thanks for settling an argument

Engine for engine, you should have him. But in a race, theres a lot more to take into consideration than just engine power.

My trans is goin in for a rebuild tomorrow but I am gonna be goin to the track as soon as its brokin in, I was thinking with not to much tire spin I will probably run a low 13, What do you think??

This is more of a theoretical/street racing question.

If I had to guess Id say they would both run around the same times at the strip. You do however have a slight cubic inch advantge.
