82 camaro vs. 98ish GTP

I see this guy at the track every friday night almost, and the 1st time I ever ran my car he stomped me with like a 9.3 and he said he was running hot. 1/8 mile track BTW.

I have a 311.6 (bored out 305) compression is about 10.5:1. It has a comp280 H cam, 280/280 at .480 lift with a performer RPM intake and Edelbrock 650 carb. It has fully built swirl port heads with the swirls cut off, pads cut down, decked. So they are pretty much just like l98 heads. Headers and custom y pipe and full 3 inch exhaust with a flowmaster 2 chamber. Switched over to a serpentine setup as well. I have a 4 speed with 3.23 gears. Non-posi. My car is real light as well, about 3100 with me in it.

Basically I'm wonderin what I should be runnin in the 1/8 and the 1/4 with that setup. Theres no 1/4 mile track close to me. And IM curious as to what kinda power that setup should be puttin out.

Preciate any help you veterans have on this. Thanks.

-Justin

No typo. That's the RPO for the MPFI 2.8L V6.

And to bigj85z-28: I would certainly expect to see 13s in that car if you can get it off the line without too much wheelspin.
