87 iroc vs 93 3kgt vr4

Hey my friend just bought a bone stock 93 3000gt 5 speed bone stock and i want to know if my 87 iroc 350 TPI auto with shift kit, 1 5/8 hooker headers with 3" collectors, slp large tube runners, flowmasters cat back, gutted cat, removed smog pump and a/c, egr valve stopped and about 100lbs weight reduction would beat him in a drag race. He just got the car he used to drive a 93 camaro 6 cyl automatic so its his first 5 speed car so as u could imagine hes not that great of a driver. oh yeah also have a 50 shot of nitrous ill be hiding on him hehe. who do you think will win?? thanks

If its a vr4 that means its twin turbo and AWD so it will be close with your mods you should be in the mid to high 13's depending on what gears you have, and he should defenetly be in the mid 13's, but since he cant drive you may be able to take him. Good Luck.

Go for it now. I know it sounds cheap but the sooner you race him the better off you will be. He probably wont be able to touch the 13's for awhile if this is his first manual, and I think they run like a 13.8 with a pro driver. And besides you should be easily in the 13's with your setup now. If your cars running good I wouldn't even worry about it. Take that 3000 down.

those cars aren't all that hard to shift. If he's smart enough to keep it in the powerband, it should be a good race.

After the race, let him know about www.3si.org so he can get some good ideas.

read carefully though, I think most of those guys are hacks.....

I say this because I own a '93 SL, I keep it original and I have the factory service manuals for it. Most of those guys seem do 'trail and error' and they're always tlaking about stuff breaking....

I think there a select few 3si people who know what they are doing with thier cars. I'm no expert myself, but If I'm modding my car I'm going to make sure it's done right!

If you want to race him again, let him do some mods to even it up!

I'm almost temtpted to put a 100shot on the SL, but I seriously want to sell it, so maybee just 'theoretical'.....it'd probably blow apart!

I think my corolla is due for a 50 shot! I'll give it until 225k....then it's getting sprayed!

It should be a good race, VR4s run high 13s - low 14s stock.

They have to be launched hard to come near their potential though, my guess is he can't/won't do that and you'll absolutely crush him... With a 50 shot you should crush him anyway but I bet you won't even need it...
