saw a commercial for the new 05 WRX, 427hp, turbocharged, AWD, these things are going to kill on the streets when they hit...any estimates on run times, or comments?

Um, it's still 227HP, not 427HP.


The 2005 WRX STi will only have 300HP.

I dunno where you got 427HP. I don't think any import performance car manufacturer will be putting out any 400HP 4-cylinders anytime soon. I know they exist in rally form, but Subaru needs to warranty these for 3years/36000 miles.

 

this is what was said on the commercial, i was relaying info, but it said, it was a turbocharged 427hp WRX, and i thought this was messed up too, but i wanted to know if anyone else knew anything about them

 

yea ive seen it, i think you have been mistaken, its 227HP. My friend bought a 2004 one. POS!

That's not right. I think that Japan still has that horsepower agreement too. In Japan, they can only produce cars with like 276hp, so I doubt that they'll waste the effort to produce a car with almost twice that for here. It wouldn't sell well anyway.

You know, I'm really not sure. I think that's right. My buddy has one with Exhaust, maybe headers, for sure pullies, and for sure cams, and he makes 263 rwhp & 247 rwtq.

if it was true that would be amazing wonder if it would beat a viper since its lighter and awd (1/4)

i raced one at the track and i got my *** handed to me on the line and the whole way it ran like 13.0 amazing them little stock 4cyl can do that. a 427hp one what would that be in low 11's ? thats alot of power for awd. when they leave the line its like a rocket just launches and gone. AND GOOD IN THE SNOW.. lol they got an agressive kinda look to them but its still a family lookin car with a wing and hood induction.
