I would advise against a t-5 swap. It wont last long behind that 350. I would suggest t-56.

i had my 406 in my car and ran 12.60's with my T-5 and my brothers ran 13.3 and one ran a 12.08 all on T-5's its odd, i think its a hit or miss with these tranny's

oh mine has seen the track 4k launches with 29'' slicks. so its holding pretty good and my brothers 13.3 was with slicks and the 12.08 was with slicks. and high rpm launches too(my brother launched at around 5k )

My car was a 14.9@94 with pulleys only but a heavy system and 17"rims when it was AOD still. My friends identical almost 93 GT AOD ran a 14.88@96 dead stock, and then a 14.66 with pulleys and cold air. Both our cars had the optional 3.27 gears though. With the base 2.73 gears they are dogs off the line. My 89 LX ran a 15.4@92 I think with the stock AOD and 2.73's. It was going 60mph in 1st gear it was geared so tall!!!

A Ford AOD has a 1st gear ratio of 2.40, quite a bit taller than a GM 700R4. So at about 5500 rpm with 26" tall tires iy would be doing 65 in 1st gear. It never even got into D in the 1/4. The guy I sold the car too put 4.10's and was running 14.56 with the car.

your dave right? work at mcbrides? you know who i am i stopped in one day looking for a torque arm mount for my camaro and some other things. i was wondering why you were on an chevy board but i forgot that you work at mcbrides but own fords. lol ironic, send me a message on AIM TPIMarow6point6

Yep, thats me. I am now working at SignsNow, my parents bought it about 4 months ago. I have been in here a few years or so, I look up info for my friend..he has a 90 IROC L98. My car is currently up for sale if you know anyone looking...
