so stock shortblock is stock internals. an yes i have heard them running real fast on stock internals minus cam. record cam only swap makes 450rwhp on stock internals. thats good for high 10's. i will try an find an example

LMAO i know what a shortblock is.
my question to u is, do you know what internals are? stock internals means crank, pistons, rods, and usually cam. these are placed in a engine block and now you have a shortblock. thus the relationship is shortblock contains stock internals, so when someone says stock internals, that means on the stock shortblock. of course they can run a aftermarket block and reuse the stock internals, but thats just dumb LOL. Vice Versa, you can say stock shortblock, which means untouched internals which means stock internals. you understand what i am saying?

not sure whos right now. you got me confused. if you go buy a zz4 shortblock, you get PM rods, 9.5 to 1 pistons, and forged steel crank for 2000 bucks. no cam and whatnot
having the fastest car on stock shortblock IS the same as stock internals. why? because the shortblock hasnt been touched. not touching the shortblock means not touching the internals inside that shortblock. the internals inside that shortblock came STOCK as is, so they are stock internals. thus a stock shortblock means stock internals as well. this is my understanding. it makes sense.
so the fastest car on as factory produced zz4 shortblock means that no internal component has been changed. that means the same pistons, rods, and crank are in there. you just bolted up heads, a cam, and intake to get your hp.

in the ls1 world, stock internal means stock long block. it esentially means bolt ons only. no heads no cam, no thinner head gasket, ie the motor has not been altered internally. i can understand the many diff theorys on this.
btw im giving this as info only, not as an answer to this arguement.
