A sophmore at my school is all hyped abot his new v6 RS. He said he will take me in a race. What do you guys think? His car is bone stock. Mine has a hooker catback and an open element air filter.

 

It will be close but he will pull you the faster you go. Most 3.8 4th gens can run mid 15's.

i ran a few 6cyl 4ths in my 89 rs lo3 t-5 it was close but the t-5 gave me the edge i think. if you didnt kno how to drive it theyd get ya but bang some gears n u got em bein as ur cars an auto ull ahve the 2.73 rear gear unless its been changed mine has a 3.08 so i think he might get ya mine was a close race i had an open element and a cherry bomb haha but tis all gone now

I just sold my z34 and got 96 rs 5 speed. Seeing that you have an auto tbi with a few mods I give him the W if he has a 5 speed and can drive. If it is an auto it will be close.

 

His car can do between mid to low 15's. The only advantage you'll have is if you have a 5 spd and he doesn't. If it's the other way around, you'll get burnt. Those 4thgens are tanks compared to your car as well, you have a weight advantage. A good launch and hope you can pull past his powerband.

 

i raced one about two months ago and I beat him by about a 1/4 to 1/2 a car. i had a really bad lauch and i missed a gear. it was a lot closer than i thought it would be tho considering the troubles I had. his was a 5 speed. and he could sort of drive it.
