The other night me and my buddy who has a 98 z28 were crusin the strip and this kid in a 87 5.0 wanted to race me. So we find the street i always go to to race and we set it up. I spun out all the way through first gear, he spun a little but gained traction faster than me. He had me by like 1 1/2 car lengths but as soon as i shifted to 3rd gear he was starin at my tail lights. My car is completley stock other than an airfoil, he said his only mod was a flowmaster exhaust. Well whatever the mods, i still won
haha.

 

You spun all through 1st? Gotta work on your launch. He had 1.5 carlegnths on you but you caught and passed him in 3rd gear? That stang must have been worn out and in need of a tune, never the less funny stuff happens on the street, good kill.

 

Yeah my launch was horrible, i cant consistently get a good launch, i cant remember exactly how far he was ahead of me, maybe it was only 1, i just no i saw the back of his car, he said his car only had 50k miles on it but who knows.

 

The 3rd gear pull of an LS1 is where most competitors meet their demise. There aren't any 3rd gens in this one so this thread too has met a similar fate.
