Well, if you got a strong running car and he's pretty much a stocker I'd say you have a really good chance

An '89 with an original qjet

So the 350 you put in was not an L98? What did it come out of? That being the case, if you haven't done any head or cam work the '94 will destroy you.

What he said.

Who knows what kind of power, or lack thereof, that 350 is putting out.

I just did an almost identical race against my friend's 89 iroc L98, except he had a cam and chip work over you.

I pulled him out by about a car to a car and a half at 110MPH.

And my car is running like a$$.

You would be destroyed.

From a truck? More than likely, if its an 84 350, its a pretty low output engine.

You will get owned. Fear not, you have a great starting point to make power. You are going to want to pick a cam that matches with an intake and heads. Your motor as it sits now has 3 bottle necks. You have a full exhaust which is great but your cam, heads, and intake are weak. I would do some research to determin what power you want to make. I would suggest looking at a vortec top end with the proper carb. You could feasable do all three for around $1000 bucks.

I do know that but the chances of him having on in his car are about a million to one. Plus, he already said it was a 350 from some '84 model. That would mean a crappy low output 80's vette motor or a truck/van/utility vehicle. If I were a betting man I would put the house down on the latter.
