Grand Am V6 "H.O.?"

ok, i saw a V6 "H.O." Grand Am, I think it was a ram air, but I'm not sure...but this is the only HO i have ever seen, and i was skeptical as to whether this guy just put the HO letter on his car...does anyone know if pontica made a high output grand am? has anyone ever raced a stock Grand Am V6 HO?

In 99 the Grand Am GT's said "V6 HO" on the front fender. In either 2000 or 2001 they switched to "V6 Ram Air" on the fender. Still the same 3.4, nothing special about them except for they have "ram air" which doesn't really do anything.

ok good, so with my mods this summer, i should have no problem dusting this grand am...cool...although, i hear that the newer V6 ram air grand ams could keep right up or even beat some stock camaros....

I raced my buddy in his 91 rs camaro with the LO3, I was driving a RamAir GT, and his LO3 was lightly modded(custom burnt chip, 14 x 3 open element breather, 3-inch catback exhaust w/Flowmaster muffler) and he was barely able to beat that thing

ya...i guess our 170 stock HP does not help too much...GM should have made that engine at least 250 HP from the factory...

Chances are you will lose. I was with my buddy in his cat-back and open element LO3 and we raced a chick in a grand am GT and she edged us out ever so slowly. Heck, even the 4 banger ones run 16.2's at the track. That has LO3 territory written all over it.

Shifty...

Thats interesting Shifty...maybe I'll get a chance to run with one of those grand ams...i was thinking that after the mods that i hope to do this summer (shift kit, headers, LT1 cam)...that I shouldn't have a problem in edging out even the V6...but I'll have to wait and see.
