If it's just a b16a into a hatchback with a header, CAI, exhaust, and not really weight reduction. I'd put them some where in the low 15's.

Just floor it and watch where it shifts into third at.. that's the max possible speed you can downshift and not over-rev...

I remember my old camaro shifted into second at 40, and would stay there till around 60 or so.

not bad.. 11 to one on a B16 and all those bolt ons will get it running good.

definately capable of bottome 15's to high 14's i believe. in a hatch tho gutted out, they can get pretty light. still think they wont be quicker than higher 14's. GSR hatches tho (b18's) can run bottome 14's with only minor bolt ons. add cams and they can hit high 13's where my friends is. he is gutted out and full built GSR. not bad for a NA car

He never said anything about the car running 11's. He said it was running 11.1 compression.

time for headers back exhaust for you my friend. and learn how to tune that prom so you can get some serious power out of more mods. if you desire to mod the little 305, just know, i got mine to run a 13.03 @103mph N/A, so they can be made to be quicker than most folks think.

also, i'd look into a set of 3.42 or 3.73 gears.

yeah i know, im just waiting for more money to flow in. and i havent quite decided what i want to do with the car yet. i havent decided if i want to go ahead and buy all the bolt ons now or if i want to save the money from those and get a 350 then get the bolt ons. and would those gears make a huge difference over the 3.23s i have in there now?

to see any real difference, you'd have to get some track times (before and after)

i'd do the bolt ons now and then pickup the 350 later, it will all transfer over and then you don't have worry about anything choking the 350 either.

15.0's N/A is not quick for anything. 13.0's N/A is quick for a Civic.

15s are quick for imports and 5.0 SN95 mustangs at Sacramento raceway.

There were so many imports with 16 and 17 second dial ins. Hardly anyone there runs 13s or lower, everyone that does either has an fbody or occasionally a 5.0 stang, but its rare. Theres one SRT-4 that's pretty fast, but he's always a dumbazz and drags his back wheels through the fvcking waterbox.

I find it hard to believe that in California, the only people running in the 13's are F-bodies and Fox Bodies.

Hey jerk i drag my front wheels through the water box , im just way too lazy to go around it then reverse then go forward and try to get in the groove again. But onto the other topic, 15s may be fast for a civic cuz it was running 20s (not rim size) when it was bone stock. So ya 5 seconds faster than stock is well...5 seconds faster than stock...but it does NOT mean its fast. I really couldnt care less if you dropped 20 seconds, if ur still running 15s ya you're a lot faster than stock BUT ITS STILL NOT FAST.

If Im not mistaken the new SI's run high 15s pretty easily. You would be surprised at what a properly tuned import can do. I was reading Car and Driver, and they tested a bunch of imports and most of them ran low 14's and high 13's with a few running in the low low 12s (evo).. correct me if im wrong but those would put up a good fight with some L98 cars.

That's like asking what a 305, 350, and 357 can do N/A and turboed. Anything you want them to depending on how much money you want to invest. I thought we'd been over this. I think the fastest N/A 4-cylinder is in the 9's.

There are some Turbo eclipses running low 8s and I think someone hit the high 7's on a tv I was watching. Thats F****** nuts from a 4 cyl.

It's ONE turbo Eclipse, and he's in the high 7's. I just posted it in another thread not more than a week ago. His name is John Shepard. The motor is the same displacement as stock as well.

I guess you didn't read the info about the car on the page then. Full glass, fully carpeted, all metal except the hood, 2650 lbs with the driver, etc. That's what my Integra weighed with me in it.

I see those wheels on 16 second Civics.
Sure has a lot of dash board, door panels, glass, and carpet for a full race car.

Okay, I'm done.

In fact, let's see some pictures of that 7 second street radial car that was brought up, I'd like to check it out.

Well there are some all out drag cars and some mercedes or jags once in awhile. Sometimes theres a fast truck or old muscle car. But still, 95% of the imports there struggle to hit 14s. There was an all out gutted civic with an engine swap and boost that couldn't hit a mid 14. The fast 4 bangers are generally SRT-4s, EVOs and STis.

EDIT: This is on street legal nights btw

I suppose when you take into account the fact that 99.9% of import compact cars are unmodified, and Californias retarded emmissions laws, I can see this. When you go to the import shoot out here, it's teams with cars that run 7's, 8's, 9's. A handful of personal cars running 9's, 10's, 11's and 12's. Two handfulls of personal cars running 13's and 14's. And a standing army the size of the population of China running 16's-19's. *Very few cars actually run 20's +

You can also run as loud of pipes as you want. Have as many stupid lights as you want, and be as low as you want without even getting a glance. Try driving a Civic that is just lowered, or has a different muffler.

Yep, my car has straight pipes pretty much, and I've been pulled over several times, never one comment about my exhaust. The only cop that has ever commented was an off-duty officer and he said it sounded "sick."

Emissions are a bitch, but there are always a way around them. I don't have to pass the visual, and I know every trick in the book to make it pass the sniffer. I watched a really really really lumpy cammed LT1 pass yesterday... that was interesting.. you know what they say.. "necessity is the mother of invention." And if you're a car guy in CA, you HAVE to know how to get past the smog *****.. whether it requires good friends or lots of greenbacks.

Didn't you hear! It's an LS7 now.
There's actually an LS7 crate motor going in a first gen camaro over on ls1tech.com. Really nice setup.

I'm looking forward to seeing mw66novas new setup run, should be fast!

That things impressive as hell btw... [even with half an engine]
Who said anything about sheet metal? I think their factory weight was 3,000 - 3,200lbs. I know my Integra with no options and hardly any weight reduction weighed a lowest of 2550 with me in it, so I can't imagine that it's that hard.

Can't be that easy to drop 500+ pounds without removing some serious amount of steel. What i meant with the sheet metal comment is that its not made entirely of c/f. The stock body is still intact.

In other news whats the new setup mw66nova?

There was an all out gutted civic with an engine swap and boost that couldn't hit a mid 14. The fast 4 bangers are generally SRT-4s, EVOs and STis.

EDIT: This is on street legal nights btw
We don't have the emissions laws here in Missouri like you CA guys, so that probably makes a big difference. But anyways, we have a lot faster imports than that. I see quite a few bolt-on NA Integras in the mid to low 14s at the track. 12s seems to be the wall for street-strip imports out here. All of the 12 second cars are turbo as well. We're low altitude, as well. There's even a guy with a built and turboed 2.3 Litre Ford 4 cyl Mustang who runs in the 12s. I don't recall seing any imports in the 11s though, except maybe like a 3000 GT VR-4 or something more high-end like that.

You guys are just talking about test and tune days, or weekly bracket racing right? Not like the NHRA sponsored events? I'd recommend going to one of those, it's not quite Jet Car Nationals, but it's still fun, and you get a good look at the kind of cars in town.

I'm talkin about test and tune nights with street cars driven by owners.
