My mom's car Vs. Mine

My mom loving getting a new car every 2 years atleast has come up with a list of cars she wants and plans on owning one by the start of the summer. In her language that means in about 3 months cuz my dad pays not her

Audi TT Quatro
350Z
Srt-4
Mini Copper S
Auto Corvette of some sort probably later Lt1 or early Ls1
BMW M3
Volkswagon GTI?<====whatever the name of that 2 door box looking thing thats fast is

Aside from the vette she will have a manual tranny because she hates autos and she can drive pretty damn well I got to admit

My question is what do I have to do to my Lb9 so it can beat these cars? Knowing her she will rub it in my face that her car is faster then mine until the end of time

Engine: LT1 w/ headers, catback, CAI, tune
Transmission: 4L60E
Axle/Gears: 3.23s
Do you have the G92 car w/ dual cats and 3.42s already, or the single cat 3.08 or whatever geared car?

I'd say if you've got a G92 TPI 5spd you can stand a good chance against most of those cars w/ bolt ons. I'd do headers, catback, runners/base, ported plenum, underdrive pulleys, custom tune, etc. I could see that nailing low 14s at least well driven and run w/ the 350Z and SRT-4 and a auto LT1 Vette, although actually winning will be too close to call IMO, will depend on how strong your particular car turns out. (these cars will all hit real low 14s, and can maybe squeak out high 13s, especially the Vette...).

You're not going to be running w/ the LS1 Vette without some more serious modding though IMO...

If she gets a M3 it will depend on the years. Older models had a 240hp motor that would run in the low 14s w/ the other cars, the newer 333hp M3s (several years now, don't remember the year they went to this setup, you'd have to look it up online) will run down w/ the LS1 Vette...

If you have the weaker non-G92 3.08 geared 5spd you likely have nearly as good a shot. The G92 car "officially" got the better cam w/ the 230hp rating, but there is a decent bit of evidence that the other TPI 5spds for sure at least got the same cam. So the main detriment you'd have is the worse gearing. If you get a good deal on a 3.42 or better rearend or can get some gears installed for a decent price I'd step up there as well. I'd personally be tempted to see how well I could do w/ the 3.08s and spend the money elsewhere though, just depend on what kind of times the car ended up running...

It's the standard recommendation but if you want to clearly whoop most of those cars and have a shot at the LS1 I would really build up a mild 350 to swap in, easiest way (other than nitrous) to run w/ the LS1 and newer M3. You could build a budget 350 would run w/ both pretty easily. I suppose if you're just stuck w/ the 305 some home head porting and a hotter cam along w/ the all the other bolt ons could come close well driven if you can handle that level of modification yourself...

You should have 3.08s from the factory then unless I'm sadly mistaken, only way you'd have 3.27s is if someone swapped in a older 9 bolt rear, or you could more likely have 3.23's in your 10 bolt if someone swapped them in...

I would start on at least getting all the standard bolt ons, got any budget to really do much or are you mostly just dreaming here? If you're tight for cash start searching ebay and the classifieds here now and try to score some of the more common used aftermarket TPI parts now, maybe by the time she gets her car you'll have accumulated enough speed parts to stand a chance...

After I finish my fall semester I should have enough time and money to build the vortech 350 I have been planning...not including the engine which is a father son winter thing i got maybe like 1500 to spend if nothing comes up(knock on wood).

My car already has a few basic things like:sway bars, strut brace, lowering springs, center force clutch, adjustable fuel pressure regulator, BBk Tb, MSD coil and distibutor, gutted air box with K&N

I know that dont really amount to much but if I cant get my engine in time i will atleast ditch the pollution control stuff and get some headers.

I believe the gears were swapped in by my uncle when the car was his, I think he said 3.27 or something like that but I can call him up and ask just to be sure

That takes ***** considering she's looking at a Cooper and a TT(which are junk).

If she hates automatics why would she buy an auto Vette?

Ever work on an Audit TT? Ever see one blow up? Sorry but I DESPISE Audi..hate them with a passion. I wasn't calling the Cooper junk, just really ugly lol

Also, I wouldn't take a new(05+) BMW if you paid me too. Coming from the body shop field I don't like the materials they're using. The way their specs are basically have to replace everything instead of repairing it. There's more but I'll be getting off topic.

I just don't like Audi..never did and never will. Plus the Audi TT isn't fast.

I am kinda worried if she gets a Copper S or 350z...that would be intresting

But I am still on the fence about pouring more money into my car since I can only afford to go to Italy for spring break or mod my car not both

In the end it doesnt matter cuz I get to drive her car around anyway when she is out of town which is often for business trips and such

Italy is awesome and so are S4s. I wouldn't spend the money on modding the car. It would suck to spend all the money, not go to Italy and even with mods lose to whatever your mom gets. Go to Italy, have fun and save up over the summer for mods that will definitely beat your mom. At least by then you'll know what she's driving.

Yeah I am going to Italy for sure, I will be dirt poor for months afterwards but I dont care

I already spent a summers worth of paychecks on my car IMHO it really wasnt worth it

Speaking of my mom she wrecked her car yesterday, I saw the whole thing since we where leaving town at the same time. She is just fine but the car is not.

So you wouldn't take a BRAND NEW BIMMER if they GAVE it to you?

I'm not reading any more of your posts.

That's like getting a Bugatti Veyron and selling it to buy a WWIT tank.
