We as thirdgen owners are stuck with the stigma that our cars are "slow"
People say TBI and the LTR setup suck but i think there is lots of potential if you just invest some time into it.
I will hold out hope that a 305 with TPI or TBI can hang with a stock LS1 F-body without a truck load of money invested.
well iam gonna get flamed good but I will stand by my words

ehh I dont know. People in general who dont know much about cars think all Camaros,Firebirds,Mustangs ect are fast beacuse of what they are, and how they look. It all depends on how your car looks. If its in really good shape people in general will think its fast. If its an old rust bucket they will think otherwise. I really would not call an LB9 or an L98 slow but thats me.

a tbi 305 can be made to go a low 13 in the 1/4, but past that they're going to get raped. Most people really misunderstand the quarter mile. They forget that they can loose .5 or more off their ET with a simple tire change. That's what 90% of the 1/4 is about - TRACTION and how you use it.
The ET in the quarter mile really doesn't show how fast your car is, it just shows how well set up it is and how good of a driver you are. The trap speed is what tells you how fast it is.

exactly. a good set of tires on an LS1 will have it running mid to high 12s.
trapping 99 and running 13.5 is pretty much as fast as you can possibly go down the quarter with that trap speed. So that's a good set up, good tires and a good job of driving. And it's not due so much to the cam, as it is a lack of top end power due to the TPI setup. Your cam is capable of making quite a bit more power with a better intake.
i trapped 100 with just a catback but could barely hit a 13.9 because im on street tires lol
