My car is a POS (rattles, creaks, pollutes, burns some oil etc...) but I am in the process of making it a nice POS!

Thirdgens are either really nice no matter what year, or they look like complete garage. Its the ones that look like they are owned by some white trash guy who lives in a trailer that give us a bad name.

You HAD to do 100 mph to get away from some guy who you just raced... Yeah that will go over well when you crash or a cop grabs you. Oh well, go out and drive fast because someone was tailgating you, but if thats the case, DONT drive down in NY or NJ...
And if someone drives a POS and doesnt admit it is one... hey I guess you cant convince everyone. If you have 40K and the car is mint, then I guess it might not qualify as one, but MOST 80s cars dont fall under that category, especially thirdgens, who have one of the worst reputations out there!

Yeah not to many in the middle. I think eventually third gens will get more respect. Kind of like what happened to the old school 60's cars as someone already stated in the past week or so.

I know that what you really mean is that they are built for easy repair and rebuilding, but the reality is, they ARE throw away cars.
Don't worry, I'm not going to pretend that any of the cars I drive aren't.

F-bodys were never designed as throwaway cars. No performance oriented vehicle ever was (and yes, Fbodys were performers compared to the rest of the trash in the 80s). Fbodys were designed to be easy to repair in the event of something breaking, but were never designed to be used and abused by a family, then thrown away.
Throwaway cars would be: Ford Pintos, Chevy Cavaliers, Dodge Neons, many Hondas, Hyundais, Kias, Toyotas, most of Saturn's lineup. There are many I didn't mention.
