Weekend kills

My Saturday wasn't too exciting. Got three integras, that was it. Dunno what was done to them but they had wings and stickers.

Tonight was alot funner.

First race was a 3 way with me in the middle of a CLEAN 91/92 Z28 thirdgen and a mid 90s Beamer. I saw the guy in the thirdgen flooring it and chirping second so I got up next to him, held it in first and tapped it a few times (chirping the tires lightly). He didn't want any from a roll.

We got a stop and the beamer rolled up next to me in the other lane. We were all exchanging revs and the light dropped to green. They got the jump on me (I really need to practice my street tire launches with this damn M6), then I put the hammer down. Caught the thirdgen at the top of first and he was at my rear quarter, the beamer's bumper was at my nose. Put a length on the thirdgen by mid second, had a length on the beamer by the top. Continued into mid third then let off around 80 or so. Had a few lengths on both of them. The thirdgen turned off instantly and the beamer flew through traffic. I turned around behind McDonalds incase I had been spotted by any law enforcement.

I continued home and picked up a friend, where we continued the hunt. Driving along clayton road I saw a riced out integra. I held it in second and tapped it a few times.. he didn't want any and he slammed the brakes and made a right.

Caught up to an SRT-4. I held and tapped a few times, then he did a flyby as I was stuck behind a car. I got out from behind the car, caught him (doing about 25 with it held in first) and matched his speed. I jumped and smashed through second but he didn't take the bait. I continued on until he changed lanes and came up on my left side. I matched his speed in second gear and we both went. I heard him punch it and I matted the loud pedal. By third I had a few lengths on him. I figure he was stock with some stupid racing stripes and a BOV it sounded like.

The next kill was found a few lights up at a stop light. a late model Bullit mustang. I knew it was quicker than the SRT-4 and I'm pretty sure it was the DOHC motor, iirc. The guy kinda had a **** eating grin but didn't really look over at me. We started off the line and he leaned into it. I floored it in first, caught second with a loud chirp and he dropped back. By 80 in third I had 2 lengths at least. Then he forgot to slow down as he dove onto the freeway (to avoid being caught at the light with me) and damn near smacked the guard rail.

I continued the hunt for awhile longer. I found a thirdgen trans am but the dude didn't want any. He even floored it up behind me, so I downshifted and smashed so he would have room to get over. He hit the brakes and made a right turn though.

Then I find a horribly body kitted civic. Man it was bad. I swear the body kit was held on with rivits, duct tape and alot of zip ties. I chased the dude until we got to a stop sign and I threw him a mean rev. He takes off full throttle, and I'll be damned if I didn't almost hit the guy. I had to hold it at about 1/4 throttle to keep from nailing him. He was definetly flooring it. It even chirped second I guess that counts as a kill, because he stabbed the brakes quickly and shot to the left. Couldn't find him after that.

We drove around for awhile longer but no one would play. Oh well.

How were your weekends?

Good kills! That’s a lot of races! My week was pretty boring.

A newer orange mustang gt sees me behind him (2002ish I guess). It was loud as hell. He hits it off the light, and is doing 75 in a 45. I’m not playing catch up. If you want to race, slow the hell down and let me get next to you.

Then I pull next to a 2000 civic si (not a hatch). He hits it at 25 mph. Bad news for him, I got a high downshift into first and blew by him with ease.

So yea, pretty lame week for me.

Man you race that thing? I've always thought your car was one of the best looking cars on the site, ESPECIALLY your engine bay. Everytime I detail my engine bay I think of yours haha

Have you ever ran her at the track?

I dunno why I got so many races tonight.. but of course.. I was looking

Heh, yea sometimes I do. I only drive it to car shows, or just cruise when i'm bored. So it only sees maybe 1500 miles a summer.

Bone stock it ran a 14.8 (2.77 rear). Since then I installed 2055's. But still have stock catback pipeing with an 80 series. But just with the headers and y pipe, It ran a 14.4@95.8 mph, 2.1 60 ft. Track was crowded and it was my last run. I could have launched harder.

This summer i'm going to add 3" catback pipeing, AFPR, bump timing to 8 degrees, gut the airbox, and have my trans go installed. I'm hoping that will scrap a very low 14. A lot of my mods on my web page are sitting in my room.

Sorry for the essay.

my weekend wasnt that good, got one race, with a late 80's early 90's integra it looked like, i only looked over once, mis-matched body panels, he gets next to me and revs, i could tell the car was stock because i herd the fan more than the exhaust, when it turned green he took off, i gave it some gas to keep up till mid 1st gear then punched it and destroyed him, by the top of 2nd he had to have been 150 ft back if i had to guess. it kept me laughing the whole way home though.

i cant wait to have a close race, those are much more fun.

Well, since the first post has like 3 non thirdgen races, I'm gonna put this up. Hey, I do have a thirdgen tranny!

This is from a few weekends back. I like these kinds of races.

Video - 1986 Cutlass Supreme with Chevy 350 vs. 1973 351 Ford Ranchero

The gears on this thing are so freakin bad. I took it to the strip two weeks ago and trapped 92 mph going through the traps in SECOND. So far I'm only at a 15.1, but the Q-jet bit the dust that friday (running an Edelbrock 600 for now). Stupid 27 year old carb. I'm getting it back with a fresh rebuild next week, I think I can hit mid 14s with it. Which, with a stock truck cam, stock 305 heads and 2.14s, I'm not feeling too terrible about.

Gears, posi, cam are the next mods!

If it was a Bullitt it was only an SOHC motor, but still nice kills.

Oh really? I thought they got the same dohc as the mach 1s? Well i stand corrected. No wonder he got pulled so hard We were even for about half of first gear, then when I hit second I just took off.

I think if it was a Mach it should have won. A well driven stock Mach is a low 13s car, whereas a Bullitt is high 13s at best.

Not much in the past few days. Monday I was rolling through heavy traffic by the mall, and a NICE looking blue Mustang GT (05-06) kept pulling up fast next to me. The week before I had blown a launch bad, and lost to a different new GT, so I wanted a rematch bad. I swung in behind him and followed to the next light, then I pulled over beside him.

He had out-of-state plates (Caly) and his woman was in the car with him. He didn't rev me, but I knew he wanted a run. Off the light I got a perfect launch, and he spun a bit, but recovered quick. He hauled pretty good, but his nose what about at my rear tire by 80.

It was about that time that I suddenly remembered two things: 1) TPD headquarters was about a block away, and 2) I needed to make a left turn in about a block, and I was in the far right lane. I swung left a little, not enough to make him swerve bad, but enough to force him into the suicide lane. Coming up over the next hill I had to swing into the suicide lane to pass another car, and he swung back over into the far right.

I pulled into the left turn lane and stopped at the light. He blew past me and took a right. Looked pretty pissed off. As I was sitting at the light, I noticed that on the opposite side of the intersection there was a TPD partol car returning to the station, so it was a damn good thing I rolled back down when I did.

The next day I ran a Del Sol with a fart can and two high-school aged kids in it. Walked him both times with ease. I was more pissed off by the fact that I hit a pretty nasty bumb in the road and bottomed out on my exhaust while racing him.

Not the best weekend, but 2 for 2 isn't bad.

No offense, but you sound like an ***-**** to swerve at someone and force them into another lane. Try being a little bit more careful. If you had to get over, its called hitting your ****ing brakes, not trying to hit the other car.

Thats how ppl get killed.

Read the second paragraph. His nose was at the back of my car before I even started to move over.

You said his front was at your rear tire. Which means, you move over and your rear quarter would hit him if he didnt move. And in which case, you would get P.I.T.ed into the suicide lane and possibly the other lanes. Even if he was behind you, unless he was a couple cars back you still dont cut in front.

Making lane changes and driving in turn lane at 80 miles an hour in heavy traffic huh? I hope you lose your ********* in a single car accident. Seriously.

I can't believe that this douche bag thinks that making his turn is more important than other people's lives. Just turn around fagbag.

Mmm... now I remember why I left this oh-so friendly place.

Before Shifty locks this, I'd just like to say that it's interesting how when everyone else on this forum illegally races on public streets with the potential for traffic, they are always safe and sane, and everything is all happy. And now when I post this little story, I should be neutered and killed.

Makes sense, doesn't it?

Have fun guys, I wont bother your little forum by posting here again.

So why'd you come back if you're just going to complain about it?

We race illegaly, but we do it as safe as we can. I.E. not cutting in front of other cars and and forcing them into diff lanes. You can do something illegal responsibly.

You are the reason we get a bad name. I personally dont street race (maybe a few times in my life) and I can assure it isnt during traffic, running people into gutters, and doing all of this in front of whatever police station or such you speak of. Your a tool, and you will NOT be missed when you leave.

I agree with stu, with that lack of care for safety, go grab a few dangerous items and have fun. My guess is you wont last long.

Sucks Urbans thread is going to be locked because your a tool who doesnt know how to drive, or start your own thread.

Bye.

Urban, it's probably just me, but I don't see many thirdgen's or foxes around any more, mostly car like the ones you raced, integras and civics.

Guess the older cars are dissapearing...

now now kids, dont argue in my thread out here it's a good mix of rice and the normal foxbodys and thirdgens. There are also some decent fourth gen cars (mostly busted up LT1s with gang-bangas driving them though). I have yet to loose a race in this thing - maybe that's a driver factor though. I raced a bolt-on LS1 and he should have taken me, but I had him at a length at 90. Anything happens on the street i suppose.

Yeah I know a well driven mach woulda beat me 25th, they're runnin some good times. That's why I was surprised, but after you say it's the SOHC it makes much more sense.

After my headers, tune and tires though I *should* be running times well enough to beat a stock mach or a stock LS1 without too much trouble, just a matter of getting to the track and dialing her in. That and actually installing these long tubes on my floor

Then a cam or nitrous.. can't decide whether I want a lope or whether I want instant 11s.. ...

I'd say cam.

I wish I had that problem. The best I got is "Should I vaccume or wax. Cant decide wether I want weight reduction or aerodynamics"

At the moment it makes me sad to think about washing her. Some dumbass clipped off my mirror and put a big scratch in her. I put a new mirror on and I'm getting the scratch fixed for free, but it's still sad lol

Does anyone else feel that way about their baby when it's hurt lol

Just boost it. Don't know how CA's emissions nonsense regulates that, but if it's possible, boost it. Turbo/SC = the best option.
