'86 355 VS. VR6

I keep seeing this Jetta running around town and i know i will probably end up racing it. i would say it is about a 95 or so and apparently its got a VR6 and its supposed to be pretty quick. Seeing as i know very little about Volkswagens i just wanna know if i'm gonna have to be careful. I'm running a 4-bolt 350, 0.030 over, forged flat tops, comp 268 cam,'68 327 heads, monte carlo SS aluminium intake, shorty headers and a 4 bbl rochester.

I think they're boosted, aren't they? Or is my head up my *** on that one..

I don't think you'll have a problem if he's stock.

I don't think you have to worry. He's most likely NOT boosted. The VR6 is the V6 that is quick from factory, but too much to modify (in my opinion). I wouldn't be worried if I were you.

The 1.8T is a far better engine IMHO.

Agreed. As far as modding goes anyway. Stock vs. Stock at sea level, I think the VR6 is a little faster.

They are NOT boosted from the factory.

Anyways, they are probably 15.5 cars. Quicker than most, slower than alot.

I've driven a 98 VR6 VW Passat (Fat Jetta) with a 5 speed with an intake, exhaust and some goodies and it would move. Pretty damn fast.
