When launching a LX Mustang, would some lean pops off the line and excessive white smoke uner WOT be a sign of someone spraying their motor?
I think i was sprayed tonight.
What about a "NX" Nitrous Express license plate frame?

Just one of them friends - friends car that we met up with out here in the country. I ran "my" friends 98' GT m5 a few times and killed him out the hole but for the most part i just keep the lead on him everytime. No pull no pass thing. But he's raced "his"friends (5.0 LX) a few times and keep the upper hand on him. So i know id beat him for most of the time.
But this was the first time id met him and his car. For the record this was just for fun, no bragging rights, betting or anything else. Just fun. But when we lined up i blew him out the hole until about 35mph and thats about the time i heard.....
ppp pop ppp pop and then this just high pitch growling as he few bly me when we was about 60-70mph. The mustang never passed any smoke the whole night until he passed me, he had this light, white, steady mist of smoke until he let out.
This cars supposed be stock, minus a CAI and a short throw.
I never brought up the NOS thing in front of him b/c i just met him that night. But today at work my buddy (98 GT) was telling me he also thought he sprayed it. Just to let everyone know, this car does have a Dry Kit. I just dont know if he sprayed it and i doubt he would have admitted it.

Any truth to the exhaust smelling like rotten eggs after a car sprays?

Yea, I was aware that a cat can produce that smell. But I've seen people accuse other people of spraying because their exhaust "smelled like rotten eggs" when they passed them. I figured it was BS, was just curious.

Never noticed any odd smells when I spray. But then again, I'm never behind the car to check... And if it's making a pop sound when he sprays, he might want to do some tuning before it's the motor that goes "pop"!!

Nitrous does change the scent, but it doesnt smell like rotten eggs. It smells more like ethanol cars at the strip.

Actually gases like nitrous, natural, and propane have no scent at all that rotten eggs smell is really a additive that manufacturers gave the gases. So if there is ever a gas leak people can smell it and run like hell!

Guess that would explain why mine doesn't smell funny. The guy that fills my bottle gets surplus medical grade, since he finds it cheaper.

96-98GT's are TURDS. I raped them rguarly back when i was bone stock. they are nearly 305 territory.
a 5.0/5 speed LX hatch driven decently bone stock is a mid/low 14's ride out of the box.
Then start doing mods....or go too damn farl iek me and realize parts with 228k miles DONT mix well with getting beat on
when I spray, all I know is Im smiling as I win
No idea on smells LOL

wow
Better get that cat fixed! that stuff is hard to clean up
this is getting funny nitrous smells
you really won't notice any smell from it.
it does have a slightly differant odor when used but, you guys clearly don't know what nitrous is. it is just a way to add more oxygen to the eng. so it will smell about the same as a N/A motor (most guys run rich to be safe from the "LEAN" cond. caused by extra oxygen)
nothing at all makes it explosive by it's self so if it leaks then you just waisted your money.
the sulfer just makes you sick if you try to breath it directly. so medical grade vs automotive is no differant and you would never know unless you try to get your buzz from it
