88 iroc 350 carbed vs 94 integra b18c (so he says)

Raced for the first time ever tonight. Ive owned quite a few fast cars/trucks but never really raced anyone. Kid I knew before I graduated seen me tonight in the store and was telling be about his Integra said the kid who sold it to him said it is a b18c (non V-tech????). He was convinced he would take me so we went out on a back road.
First Race:
I hooked up right off the bat smoked him pulled into the right lane and got off of it. Went up to a church and stopped. He goes why did you get off of it and wanted to go again.
Second Race:
Pulled right out of the church and onto the road (bridge).
Didn't hook up so well. Was a little sideways smoked him again.
Pulled into a trailer park and told him I dont think its a b18 seems more like a stock engine with a cone filter.

His response out of this was I'll call you in two weeks when I get my stage two kit.
Felt kind of good showing someone how fast their car isn't.

The non-vtec Integra motor is the B18b. The GSR motor is the B18C1 (Type R is B18C5). He could have been a GSR and you wouldn't have been able to tell the difference.

If he is a GSR then even better lol. He said it was a non v-tech. It didnt seem like it had a swap to me. If it did the person that worked on the car absolutely knew what they where doing because it looked stock minus the AEM intake tube and cone filter.

Sounds like just a regular Integra LS then. My GSR would kill an LS, but up against even a Third gen, the Camaro driver wouldn't be able to tell the difference.

Ive been around hondas. Couldnt get a great look at much at night but I did notice how clean it was under the hood. Most swaps dont look stock or have after market intake manifold, header or something. I figure a GSR would give me a good run or even a swapped hatch or CR-X.

A swapped hatch or CRX with a GSR motor in it might, but probably not just a stock GSR. That's like a mid 15's car with a good driver.

I figured they are faster than that. Must not be as light as I figure. Ill get ahold of him again when/if he gets his turbo kit. If he does he will probably bolt on and go with no tuning at all.

Yeah, it already sounds like he's doomed to blow his car up. I know you are new and don't know me, but I had a 1990 Acura Integra LS and ran 15 psi on the stock motor. I made 277 whp and 232 ft/lbs with a weight of 2600 lbs with me in the car. I only ran a fastest of 13.8 (2.3 60') but it did trap at 106mph over a mile above sea level.

Sooooo, if he gets hooked up with someone who knows what they're doing, he could have a fast car on his hands if he turbos it correctly.

The problem with the 4cyls is lack of torque and there really isnt much that can be done other than a super charger. Rode in a supercharged 2000 SI coupe. Has stock clutch and the kid couldnt drive so it was a turd but I think it would have been a pretty quick car. Worked with a kid with a GST. Put a bunch of money for a new turbo TB injectors and fuel pump. Tuned on the stock clutch. Ran 15 flat. Was pretty pathetic if you ask me. All he did was talk about how fast his car is then he showed me his timeslip and I had to lol.

They do, that guy was a clown.

For the record, supercharging a 4 cylinder is kind of a waste.

Stu you might be able to give me some input on this. Buddy knows a kid with a 94 hatch Ls swap. Said it ran 14.1 n/a? Is that bs or not? I guess now the car has a turbo and he was getting it tuned yestarday.

If he built it up with cams, full exhaust, and stuff like that I could see it. Sounds about right since he found out what a waste N/A was and is now spending his money the correct way.

Oh yeah, he probably lightened the car as well.

I ran a noisy 2000 Type R a few years ago. Well, I didnt really race him, but he saw my 98 z28(and all my rubber patches) in front of the house and he used to always do clutch dumps and wake me up. He happened to slowly drift by one day while i was outside and I told him I was gonna whoop his frickin **** if he threw another rev in fronta my house. So he pulls up about 20 feet and does a burnout in fronta my house. So me n a buddy hopped in my z and chased him. We seriously caught up to him about a half mile down the road. Before he knew it, I was on his ***, so he nailed it and I had to let off the gas to avoid hitting his rear bumper. I know I had an ls1, but this car was weak regardless. I chased this kid all the way to his driveway, where he jumped out and screamed, "sorry man, i was just playin around" So I just yelled Ur car is slow, so dont ever rev Ur noisy fart cannon in front of my house again! Or Im gonna come over here and break Ur head! And he has been very quiet since. Oh yeah, the word was that he runs low 14's. My ***!!! My 3.1 liter RS prolly woulda smoked him!

A stock Type R should be a high 14 second car if I remember correctly. No one has cared about Type R's for a long time. Now everyone wants the Nissan 240's.

There is a guy that bought an RSX Type S and he got hit from the back and it literally crushed the back end. Needless to say his Rsx motor and 6 speed are now sitting in a crx. Dear god that thing is fast. All he has done to it is exhaust, intake and header and he runs low low 13s. Thats with a full stereo.
