R32 owned!

The wife and I decided to take the z out the other night. As I was going through town, I ran into a friend driving his g/f's golf (newer one). We were just messing around when this R32 started playing with us. Let me make this clear, my car hasn't been setup or tuned up since last year so nothing was near right on my car, especially my tires. From a 20mph roll, he couldn't keep up, or from any roll. From the dig though, he'd pull 2 cars on me and I'd start jumping up on him quick, after my tires stopped spinning. I must say those cars aren't bad, but the price they put on them, blech!!! Anyone else run one?

those r32's are pretty quick... they should give a 305 a good run for their money

No, not even close.

The R32 is the V6 AWD Golf with like 230 hp. They are kind of portly, and a little too expensive for their performance if you ask me. If they had Navigation and heated everything the price would be a little better. Who knows, maybe they do?

Looks cool though.

They are cool looking cars but they are slow and heavy as stu mentioned.

The vw fans around here think these things are god like. The dude driving thought his **** didn't stink at first, till a 20 yr old car took him to school!!! It looked like the one on the bottom of stu's reply. The 06 and 07 are supposed to have like 10-20hp more, whoohooo. And it's like stu said, they're portly alright. A friend of mine was researching them, they weigh too much for the little power they have.

Does she have an SRT-4? I'm pretty sure that car is a great deal faster than every other Neon ever made.

I just smoked one really bad a few minutes ago. The kid was a bit pissed. He needs to stick with racing Cobalts and leave the racing to the big boys.

Is it boosted? A boosted AWD V6 could be a nice little platform to start with if someone has some cash.

No, it's N/A. It's like the Jetta VR-6 on steroids.
