1985 S/C vs. 1999 Mustang GT

OK, this guys an idiot, every time I see him its always how much work my car needs to keep up with his stang and such, he's also talkin **** to a lot of my friends who own faster cars than the Camaro (its not slow, but I wouldn't call it crazy fast either). OK..here we go, I'd like to be the guy to shut him up, I think it'd be funny for my $2500 Camaro to kill this guy who thinks he's god of all cars (I'm being serious, he told me to my face one day he killed a new LS2 GTO, C6Z06, and a 430RWHP Lightning).

His mods: 1999 Mustang GT 4.6 Auto.
Flowmaster mufflers
Offroad X-pipe
CAI
Splitfire plugs

My Mods: 1985 Camaro S/C carb'd 355 swap
Holley 600 VS
Edelbrock Performer EPS
Cam 224* @.050 .465" lift
Mildly ported heads
Heddman headers
Custom 3" Y-pipe
3" Flowmaster Exhaust
3.73s
B&M Shiftkit
Accel wires
160* T-stat
! smog
! A/C
! cat

He's also talkin **** to my friend with a 1998 Z28 (LS1, 3.73s, shiftkit, tuned, Intake lid, Exhaust) and Stealth TT/RT (Stillen DP, Gutted precats, 14-15psi, Vacuum reduction kit, Aftermarket BOV forget brand). So..who would win, him against me or any of my friends. THX!

You may all have him beat, but a carbed motor to me is hard to judge.

you friend with the camaro should be able to take him and the stealth probably could too. As for you it is a little hard for me to judge but you probably could take him too if you get a good launch.

I don't know what his mustang is putting out, but a 1999 Mustang GT has 260 hp / 302 ft-lbs stock, but I think you and ur friends got him.

FYI. Automatic mustangs suck the big one. Every single one of your friends including you should give him the smack down. Unless maybe he is spraying and not telling anyone.

Yep, cause everyone keeps a hidden spray just for the occasion.
His mods: 1999 Mustang GT 4.6 Auto
Flowmaster mufflers
Offroad X-pipe
CAI
Splitfire plugs

Spray a few times on that and see how it still runs. Especially if he doesn't know what he is doing. (not flaming you saleen just saying its very unlikely)

I think you will all rape him. Sounds like a domestic rice preacher.

92centexcamaro he could easily get by with a 50-75 shot of nitrous with his car. So having him spraying wouldn't be all that surprising.

He could have a 150 shot in the car also... just because you dont think he is, doesnt mean he isnt. Id say ask around if his claims are true. Most likely all BS, but he "could" have a bottle. See if anyones witnessed him racing and how it went down, if your serious about shutting him up. A little homework goes a long way!

My friend has a 98 GT spraying a .058 jet through the MAF and it's taken over 100lbs of nitrous on full quarter mile runs, it took the car from running 15's to running 13's. This is on a 5 speed car with non PI heads and a PI intake with exhaust on the factory manifolds. Auto cars are alot slower without gearing or a stall from the way it sounds the kid doesn't have anything but a big mouth. Even my Mustang friend knows better than to say he can beat anything on the road and his car is a real sleeper with that hidden nitrous kit. I say buy a nitrous kit and hide it as well that way when you do it you do it right the first time and never look back. Back to the main question if your car is in good tune and he isn't spraying you will take him out hands down, if he has gears, a stall, or spray then you never know. I don't really see a kid that says he can beat anything on the road and running splitfire plugs hiding much so you need to run him and post the result

P.S. The mustangs 8th mile times on spray are identical to my TPI cars times off spray, I have 2 time slips showing it down to the 100th of a second. Definetly do this one for us!

Well all of my FOX stangs have had a bottle in the hatch.
There is a good possibility that one is mounted in the back of my Saleen as we speak. Its just there to spool the turbo I swear.

I'm not saying that this kid is that smart and he probably isnt. However a good street racer will keep his car looking stock and name off a bunch of silly mods to make the car sound like a pile when it is actually pretty quick.

I know a few members here have seen my Saleen. And it looks and sounds like a stock 14 sec pig untill you hear the turbo spool or the bypass valve release.

No gauges, stock Saleen wheels and stock size drag radials.

anyway. Run the guy and shut him up.

I agree, my friend Ricky does this. He has a twin turbo 03 GT, that other than sounding like it has an exhaust isnt anything special. Stock with DRs, and tint, and even with the hood up most people think it has a cold air kit... Needless to say the car screams when he gets on it, but by that time its way too late. He is the kind of guy that says the cars stock and has dumb things like pulleys to make it faster than Vettes...

The reason I haven't raced him yet is because I'm afraid about the 'what if I lose?' thing...if I do lose, I'll never hear the end of it and it'll just feed him even more than before.

Notrous...I'm not saying he doesn't have it, but im 95% sure he doesn't, he probably would've opened his mouth about it by now and he has a HUGE mouth as you can tell.I can't think of anyplace that would put a notrous system in his car around here (took me about 3 hours of calling people to just find a place to do my y-pipe without cats). I've seen him get on it and its nothing special really, it didnt look fast, but who knows.

Forgot to mention that he's about 35 years old, his wife is in the Army for basic training and this is HER car and he drives an Astro van when she'd not away. Also forgot to mention them altezza taillights that somehow added 15hp or so :P .

A few races may go down tonight as in the TT Stealth and/or the Z28 if I can get their lazy asses away from their **** and GFs.

Do it just to shut his mouth. And then remind him taht its his wifes car and ask if he wants to run the van.

do it and if he talks trash to you tell him at least your car is yours and not your wife's/girl's. If he beats you ask him how much his wife paid for it
