Iroc 355 vs rX-7

Gonna happen this weekend. Drag 1/4 mile. Any predictions?

The rx7 is stock except some chip work and pulleys.

My car is listed below.

The Iroc's gonna take the cake. The '90 RX-7 turbo runs the quarter mile in 14.9, the '94 Rx-7 Touring runs 14.5, the '94 turbo runs an even 14 seconds. With all the mods on your car you should have no problem.

seems to me like you should take him down pretty easily and and if it is non-turbo you should be nice and stay in first the whole time to make it seem close lol j/k.

I'de say this one's yours, unless he's done one of those crazy port jobs to his engine, I suppose if it's the stock peice with metal taken off it's still stock. Good luck on the run.

It's a turbo. It's the style right before the RX-8 debuted.

BTW, he's never taken it to the track yet. I doubt his drag skills are any good.

This is going to be a good run, alot of variables could pitch it either way. Make sure to post us your results after this one.

If its stock it will be an easy kill but are you sure nothing is done to it. Almost all of them are running mods nowdays.

uh shhhh I have a secret for you but uh... *looks around make sure no other import guys around* your gonna win if he is stock and you know how to drive.

but if he is modded who knows. rotary responds well to mods and even more so on a turbo rotary. but then again if he drives loike a douch then all is great for you either way I bet.

those 3rd gen FD rx7's are pretty dam quick. u better be quicker than mid 13s to reliably take one if they can drive. any mods on that 7 and it could be easy pushin 12s.

from the looks of it, u should be pretty quick urself, so i think u could have this one

So how fast are these RX7's? Stock form and maybe an exhaust/intake mods...

Also, my buddy has an '88 RX7 N/A with just an exhaust system (racingbeat header, downpipe, cat, custom made 3" ipipe to ractive muffler). Damn thing is so loud is annoying but he has 4.10's in the back and for some reason, it seems faster than what ppl make it out to me.

first thing tell him he is just kicking himself in the *** with the 3inch i pipe

my car has run at the track a 16.4 but I have had a few problems with it when I did so. it's amazing what a loose MAF does. that or missing shifts cause I suck . that was with just a K&N style filter, header and cat removed replaced with a straight pipe to the stock rusted exhaust.

most 2nd gen rx7's are in the low low to mid 16 second range though there have been a few reported to hit high to mid 15's stock.... I donno though. the second gen turbos stock are around low 15 high 14 range and a thirdgen rx7 stock should be able to hit around a low 14 maybe a high 13 if you actually know what you are doing and can handle IRS.

moddem the turbo cars are all over the place as they respond very well to boost but also with the exhaust system even the N/A ones respond very well to exhaust systems.

So that custom made 3" ipipe is hurting him? I don't think he's keeping the car now, wants a G60 swap Jetta

stock is 2 inch pipe off the block and then into a 2 1/2 pipe then split again to a 2 1/2 inch pipe
that is easily enough for this car. most turbo guys ar erunning 3" though but N/A the only way you would need it is if you are running a heavy heavy port job

4.10's is factory in a NA 86-91 RX-7, 4.30's is factory for a turbo 86-91 RX-7.

stick to the domestics anti-import

4.10 are stock for ALL rx7's from 86-91 except for automatics which have a 3.90 which did not come turbo in the states or the GTU's which is N/A no option car and it had 4.30

i had a few guys on rx7 sites telling me its a close race between a FD and an LS1 fbody. stock for stock... which seems to spell BS to me, as they would need full exhaust and possibly 2psi more boost to hang. stock they say are mid 13's and what i thought they were capable of.

eh I guess mid 13's might be possible in great conditions. and it would have to be some good conditions. maybe though the fd was driving a ls1 driver who couldn't really drive?

from my understanding though supra's are around mid to low 13's not rx7's

yo, I am selling a 1986 Mazda RX-7 NA 5-speed for $500.
needs engine work.

It starts and then stalls.
and i think the coolant is leaking into the oil pan.
body and interior is great.

will trade for brokendown or running dirtbike or quad

email for pics.
