Hey guys,

I met and played around on the street with some guy with an 89GTA Turbo Trans Am who told me to check out this board. Super nice guy, but I didn't quite hear his name.

Anyway, I thought I'd sign up. I used to have two third gens, an L69 '84 Z28 A4 and an '82 Z28 Pace Car with the cease-fire injected 305 and an A3.

Crap, I wish I would've listened better. Maybe he just hasn't seen it yet. Oh well, it was definitely a modded, nice car! Maybe I need to look around the regional forums.

lol i feel bad for you cause you had a "cease-fire" injected car. I think you meant cross-fire right? anyways seems like you have a healthy evo after seeing your times and welcome to the board.

Thank you. And yes, I actually meant CEASE-fire. GM was only kidding when they marketed it as Cross-Fire Injection. In a heavy rainstorm, water leaked into my cowl hood, into the open teapot-style (crossfire) TBI, and then into the combustion chamber. The result was a total engine cease-fire, in the form of hydrolock.

Thanks. Typical bolt ons most people follow: Exhaust, cams and cam gears, engine management, injectors, and a turbo upgrade. With the race gas map, I'd love to see 11.50s and 121mph out of this setup, but I haven't been back to the track in a couple months.

Thanks for the welcome! We were just kind of messing around, but it was in the city so we didn't get too crazy at all. I passed him normally and he looked over and smiled, then hit the gas. His car took off and pulled really well. As soon as I got the throttle into my car to give chase, he lifted and I went by him, then I lifted right away so he didn't think I was trying to do a ***** flyby or anything. We ended up filling up at the same gas station. It was a really clean '89, and I've never seen it in the area before.

I have no idea what would've happened in a street race, because we never went for it at exactly the same time.
