87 TA vs 2003 VW GTI
How would I fare with a GTI, aftermarket replaced turbos and intercooler, CAI and Catback. ABout 275hp
87 TA - Carbed 385 Fast Burn, Hot Cam, TKO600, 9" Rear.
Best time at track was a 11.9 @ 129.
About 425hp - 460tq

A 129 trap is good for mid 10s with suspension/tires. What was your 60 foot on that run? You must have spun for days.
His car is probably pretty quick for 275 hp, but you'll still rape him.

Im spinning into 3rd cant get too much traction. The tires are only street radials. 60 ft time is horrible.

Hmm that doesnt sound bad. My friends GTI made 180 whp on a stock turbo with a bunch of stuff done and since added his front mount, exhaust, bigger turbo and such and I doubt hes at 275 whp, maybe 230. If you mean flywheel then yes 275 sounds like a low boost set up!
K04, ~230whp
E05 ~245-255whp with tons of torque
GT28R (Not often used) 275-285whp
GT28RS (Very common) 300-350whp
At 350whp, the stock rods start bending.
GT2871 ~350-375whp
GT3071 ~400-450whp
GT35R ~500+
Thats with a stock head and all the misc supporting mods. Also with a stock style computer. Add 15-20% for a ported head. There is many variations with the T series turbos as to power that I dont want to get into. I mostly like working with the water cooled, ball-bearing GT series turbos.

Screw hooking up, give him the holeshot and run him down. He should be a couple SECONDS slower than you and since your times are on street tires you should be able to get close to replicating your track times on the streets. Good luck on this one keep us posted.
