Yesterday, I was going down the road and was behind an SRT-4. Once we got off the two lane road onto a 6 lane highway, I started to pass him (regular driving). As I get up beside him, he takes off....so I take off. I got up beside him pretty easily and then started passing him. I got maybe two cars in front of him and we cought up with some trafiic, so I let off. Of course he blew on by me. I stayed being him for a little while hoping the road would open up again, but it never happened. Either way, that is like the 5th SRT-4 I have raced, and only one beat me, but it had many mods.

Well I went to pay my bill, and on my way back home I came up behind a 94 or so Z-28. Actually when I was behind it, I wasn't sure what years it was...all I knew is it was a Z-28. I was scared it was an LS-1. Anyways we are stopped at a traffic light, me behind him. It was an older guy and his teenage son. I could tell they were up to something, cause the son kept looking back, and the dad kept looking in his mirror. Well the light turned green, and he eases off....as do I. Then when he shifts from 1st to 2nd (6-Speed) he takes off. I was like WTF man, I am behind you and you take off. Anyways I didnt even give chase or anything. We get to another light and again I stop beihind him. This time the teenager is looking back laughing, like they had just done something. This time the light turns green, and he slows off again.....but this time the vehicle in the right lane did not go on the green light, so I moved over to the right lane, and again he punches it (before I even line up with him). I take off and I start going by him, then he shifts into thrid....well I figured he would blow by me at this point, but I still kept pulling on him. I got 3-4 cars ahead, then he let off. I thought the look of their faces as I went by them was funny as hell, cause I know they were not expecting that........lol. Well anyways I went home 2-0 for the day, so it made my weekend.

 

strong running car u have. THe lt-1 u raced probably was a 97 z-28, the 97 z-28 has the same taillights as the ls-1 z-28

 

nice runs! your l98 sounds pretty strong! most srt4's stock trap about as fast if not faster than mild L98s. even a stock LT1 6 speed is a good race for a mild L98. good kills

 

It was probably stock with a bad driver. 4 cars on a 6-speed LT1 = bad shifting from the LT1. Good kills though!

For comparison I've never lost to an L98 (stock or modded that retained TPI) or an SRT-4 that had less than an aftermarket turbo and I really don't have very much. my best track time is 12.96@105.6.

Good runs though, you obviously have a very strong runner.

yeah, I am not going to sit here and say anything about an LT-1, but that is the second one I have beat. Yes both were stock and both T-56. On one hand the first one I beat had two people in it, and so did I. This being the second one, and again it had two people in it, but I was only person in my car. Yes both were bone stock LT-1's and I can not say anything about the drivers, but bad driver or not, they would have pulled past me in third if they out powered me. I have said this many times before, my car does not run like a normal TPI car. At the same time, this is first time I have owned one witht he SLP package. My times at the track are as follows:

1/8 mile (all we have around here):
60'= 2.009
mph= 74.21
et= 9.019

this was with my tranny slipping into second, but that is fixed now, so I will go again. I am sure I will be in the high 8's with it running 100%. I also will be installing underdrive pulleys this weekend, hope that helps. Once I install those, that will be the second performance thing i have done to this car. First being removing cats and installing 3" exhaust. Other than that car is stock. I have looked up those 1/8 mile times, and they are better than most LT-1 (stock) cars I have seen. As I have said before, this is the best thirdgen I have ever owned and I love it.

 

Still think you can take my (hers) LiL black LT1?The new clutch should be here any day and now that she gave it the ram air hood of sorts (thanks to that van she rearended)it should be stronger than ever.We will have to tape it.I have $50 that says the LT1 spanks that L98.HAHA Later scott,chris.
