What Have you Stomped?
I HAD a 98 t/a (before it was total'd
) it had these bolt-ons: programer, cold-air, headers & exhaust, 3.73's and a 2800 stall w/ shift kit. It was pretty dang fast or at least to me. I never lost a race to any streetable car. At the track (1/8 mile is all we have here) I spanked one of those 05? Cobra's (stock). He ran 8.5 (with traction control on), I ran a 8 flat (spinning out of the whole). I also use to stomp those ***** lightnings like they were Pinto's. I'm just wondering what car's you guy's have beaten.

I have an L98 with basic boltons( pulleys, air foil, headers, cat back, smog delete, built tranny, 1.6 rockers) Its funny because I have been spanking the crap out of LT1s lately and they are stunned because I have some mecedes emblems from work that I rearranged and made say 305 on my fenders. So they must really feel stupid. I still can't believe they all fall for the wolf in sheeps clothing.

I assume you mean 03-04 Cobra, and an 8.0 in one of those wouldnt be too hard. Pulley abd a filter and your there easily. An 8.0 and you never lost to a streetable car? Hmm must not be many fast cars down there, Ive been high 7s in a Mustang with stock heads, stock cam, and some bolt ons
!

I have bolt on junk that ran a 7.7 8th mile, of course one of my bolt on's is a nitrous kit. Not bad for a stock high mile long block with an outdated fuel injection setup.

Its called sleeper. Even if I didn't have the badges my car would still run the same. So whatdoes it matter if I have badges or not? Be a man? You really shouldn't be talking. Anybody who just replys on a thread just to be a d**k and talk $hit about peoples rides is just plain ignorant.

woah.. easy there.. didnt mean it like that.. i see the sleeper idea but the way i see it, any stock looking 3rd gen that runs 8.0's is a sleeper in my eyes.. no need for a badge to mask anything more..

Re: What Have you Stomped?
I few mildly built 4 bangers and a couple GTPs. I also took down a few of my fellow thirdgen drivers. I stay away from those "shitty" lightnings and Cobras since they are a pulley swap and tune away from stomping a mud hole on alot of street cars out there. LSX cars are also out of my league for sure too.

Re: What Have you Stomped?
So when you crash your car after doing 120 in a 40 racing your buddies mom's station wagon, will it be all over the news so I can watch your dumbass show off your "I will never back down" attitude?
I retract my previous statement of you guys being cool. You're all f*cking stupid. Keep it at the track ladies.

Re: What Have you Stomped?
lol sleeping with a moose?
Grow up. Period.
Street racing I can deal with when it's with people that KNOW what they're doing. Not some 17 year old hot shot that thinks his car is fast because he beat the momma civic in the parking lot. Regardless of what this forum says, you take it with a grain of salt. Obviously people will street race and obviously theres going to be idiots like you that come on here, my point is...
You're a fool.
I'm done. I'm going to go back to my maple syrup, my cold winter months and my moose. "Damn canadian's"...

Re: What Have you Stomped?
First of all, an ls1 with a few mod's verse a car that's 6 year's newer and is supercharged and me beating him by a half of a second is impressive to me. Second of all, there's no way that 5.slow can run high 7's with bolt-ons. The only way you could do that is by jumping the light a full second too early!
Our other one with Explorer heads, stock cam and bolt ons went 7.48 in the 1/8th!Must be a LOT faster than anything in your town, even with a very mild combo!

Re: What Have you Stomped?
You know I don't believe in racing on the street that much I prefer to race at the track. The occasional street stomping is cool to a limit. I like the chrome Iroc wheels. Sorry for the off subject statement. But anyways, If somebody wants to risk their life and someone elses that is there own stupidity. Lets just hope they don't kill anyone.
Demon, I agree but I don't think you need to be so harsh about it.

Re: What Have you Stomped?
I think that these cars your saying cobra's and lightings have been driving real bad through my experience riding and driving my friends 03 cobra when it was stock esp now that is modded is ridicilously fast and I have been in the car when he crushes ls1 in trans am , camaros , and vettes street racing is aite when the people are responsible but just the other night I was coming up 79north and there were two mustanges stopped on the road trying to line up on a highway some people are ridiculous

Re: What Have you Stomped?
My problem is that everytime I come across anything worth racing (vette, stang, t/a, gto, or charger) they end up being a lady or a 95 year old. The only cars I get to race are high school kid's in there mom's volvo's, which I show no mercy! I have not and will not back down from a race, wether it's a porshe or a pinto I'll race'em all!

Re: What Have you Stomped?
yeah idk about the badge idea either. I see alot of v-6 mustangs with GT V-8 emblems on them. GAYYY! But I guess it would be smarter to make your setup look weaker than stronger. Not the other way around. I bet it's embarassing when you loose to a car that really does have a bigger motor, while your sporting a fake badge. BTW im bored as hell at work reading an outdated Car and Driver magazine.... Has anyone ever beat a Saleen S-7 down the track??? If your running an 11.6, then you might just have what it takes

7.94, but with that attitude, Id suggest not pulling up next to me at a light. Might have some more parts going on soon, like maybe some heads, maybe a cam, maybe some kind of power adder!

Re: What Have you Stomped?
opp u were talking about ur 98. i thought u were talking about ur 88 beating the new cobras hahahhah. i have a friend that has a 04 cobra with intake and exaust and he ran a 12.1@112mph on drag radials. a 98 with headers, lid, tune, and stall should run the 1/4 around 12.5-.8 @around 105-110 depending on the driver and how well the car responds to mods.

Re: What Have you Stomped?
I read somewhere that those cobra's have super restricted exhaust, that with headers and free-flowing exhaust that 500 horse is not a problem.
Yeah, I just found a website that tell's how to convert 1/8 mile times to 1/4 mile times. It say's I would have gotten around 12.6 in the quarter. But I never raced with slicks so I could have gotten better.

Changing out heads in my book is not a simple bolt-on. No fast car's were I'm from....Okay. Check out this article, Brian Goss Lives a few miles from me. Now you tell me that I don't know what fast is.

Re: What Have you Stomped?
I didn't say it always was... put it could potentially happen. Not by fault of either racer but somebody not paying attention could pull out in front of the race. I do it every so often, so I am not knocking it. Just saying that it is alot safer to race at the track.

YOUR the one who claimed an 8.0 car never got beat by anything in your area, I put two and two together and came up with the fact you must have a crappy area for fast cars. An 8.0 car at my local hang out would look stock!

A 4.6 with all the bolt ons... hmm sounds like an 11 second car to me, but then again I like getting everything I can out of my junk!
Well your area must be fun then, I wish an 8.0 car was faster than all the street cars around here!

This has nothing to do with the debate: Does 150 shot actually give you a 150 hp or is that just what they want you to think?

I still don't see how your car can run as fast as you say. According to ford your stock car runs 14.9 at best.

Secondly he drives the hell out of it and runs good rubber with full bolt ons, and shes a light car. Whats not to believe?
If it was a chevy would you be more inclined to believe his times?
