92 Camaro RS Vs. 93 Eagle Talon AWD

Hello!

My buddy wants to race me because I just put a new motor in and he put a new motor in his car. He has a 1993 Ealge Talon AWD stage 3 turbo car, basic cam kit, 2 litre motor and a 5 spd

I have a 1992 Camaro Rs, comp cams 258xe roller cam, edelbrock performer intake, 2.73 gears(which are really killing me) , 081 worked over heads, custom true dual exhaust and headers, 650 dp carb, th350 with 3500 rpm stall and shift kit (coming soon)

We are both having some bogging problems, but not very often.

Who will take it in the 1/4 mile?

Who will take it from a roll?

Thanks

My money is on the Talon, cammed, boosted, shoot, they could dip into the 12s in relatively stock condition w/ a few mods, and it seems he is well beyond that. I'd say your're probably running pretty good, the only way you'll really know is to run him. He ought to eat you up from a dig, esepcially on the street, rolling you might have a fighting chance, there really isn't enough info on the Talon to have a good idea on what he's running like, but cammed w/ a healthy amt of boost, those cars really fly. Like 11's fly.

Re: 92 Camaro RS Vs. 93 Eagle Talon AWD

So what would it take for me to run 12's with the current stuff that I have, I was thinking 4.11 gears and wait redux?

He is planning to run 25 psi of boost, so I think he'll be pretty fast.

We both haven't run our cars at the track but will be doing so very soon.

I would say converter/gears/tires would get you 12's, you could get deep w/ spray on top of that. Gears are really hurting, so is a stock converter, especially w/ a motor thats got some cam and can run good up top. Now, all that won't matter if he's at 25psi and properly built. You can hope for a broken tranny, but if that doesn't happen, your toast, dig or roll.

He already has the stall. With gears and nitrous you should be close, might take alot of nitrous.

Honestly on nitrous those gears won't hinder you all that much.

Re: 92 Camaro RS Vs. 93 Eagle Talon AWD

well this race isnt gonna happen anytime soon, because as it is, my car needs a tranny and he has no compression in his engine.I think im gonna be getting a th350, maybe one of those tci streetfighters with the 3500 stall and while im at it, might as well change the diff out to a 3 series eaton posi with 4.11's
