87 Formula vs. 07 Solstice

I have an 87 firebird formula with a 305 w/ quadrajet and I was wondering if I could take a 07 Solstice auto in a race? The only advantages I'm worried about are 20 years and half the weight...

Re: 87 Formula vs. 07 Solstice

if it's the GTP then you are screwed. They push 265 hp i think (maybe closer to 300) and you know they are light. it's that hair dryer they put on.

i was messing with one and did okay, got ahead after a bit, those light cars kill me at the line on the street. that and my OD rearend.

i say you have a fighting chance if you get traction. as long as they don't have a manual and rev it you will win.

Re: 87 Formula vs. 07 Solstice

first of all.....the Turbo is GXP

I think he is racing a base car 177hp 2.4L, 5 speed auto---they are not that light. 2900 ish.

My Cobalt 2.4L auto beat my 88 TBI Camaro by 0.1

I think you'll lose but just by a hair

I think it will be a good race if it is a auto with N/A.
