91 Z28 vs. 92 Lx Mustang

Ok so I have a decently powered camaro. its a 350 with around 360 hp and 400 ft. lbs t. I have a 700 r4 with stall, 3.73's, and 9.5 " rear tires. its kind of a sleeper considering i have a single exit exhaust ( 3") and its not tooo loud. (its like a flowmaster 50 series or something, I wasnt the one to put it on and i havent gotten around to changing it yet). the other day i was filling up and a teal lx drives down the road and just revvs it up looking at me. So I finish pumping and casually pull out in the direction of the stang (my house was right down the road). well he was driving extremely slow (guessing waiting for me? lol). I catch up to him and start to follow him (toward my house). well we come to a stop sign and the kid in the back seat is egging me on. begging me to race. so i smile, turn left (down the little drag race road in my town) and the minute he turns he jumps on it and launches. so i so also. At first i was a little behind cus he jumped it.. but then i was right on his a**. and acutally pulled up next to him to show i could pass no prob. the look on their faces was priceless. i actually found out later that the car was for sale and it was being taken on a test drive when i raced it ... with the owner driving hahaha. i went to check it out a few days later. its a 5 spd. after mark. heads and some wierd fuel thing hanging off the back bumper.. i dunno. but on the window it had a 1/8 mi time at like 8 sec? anyway.. just thought i'd share my victory. it was quite obvious that if we raced next to each other at a light... it wouldnt have been much of a race. lol

Thats awesome dude. Im guessing you have a solid mid 12 second car. My buddy's mustang with around 275hp feels like it hauls! Until you get into fourth.

He thinks it pushes 400. He ran a 101mph in the quarter, so hes much less than that. The thing is light as hell and with the t-5 it rips around, but its deceiving.

Where in pa are you? I'm near lancaster, you gonna take that thing to Cecil?

Good kill, since i went with the 383 in my 89, i have had no fox body give me any trouble, shoot, not even LS1 cars. Unless they had a power adder, the stangs are nothing.

Re: 91 Z28 vs. 92 Lx Mustang

For comparison his car is pretty slow, mines a mid to lower 8 second car on 18" street tires with unported stock heads (93 Cobra valves in them), stock cam, and a few bolt ons. Been 7.9s in the 1/8th on a tire. Sounds like you have a 12 second car the way you pulled.
