WooHoo!!! Late night drive! learning to launch...
well i started to try to data log tonight(130am), and well that didnt work because my laptop wont talk to my ecm, but anyways since i had the car out on some backroads where i was going to datalog, i figured hey, why not have some fun, and do something productive and learn to launch! well long story short i left half of my rear tires on the concrete, inhaled ALOT of tire smoke, and remembered how much fun it is to drive my car hard. my question is, with a t-56 and 342 gears on 9inch street tires, is it possible to get a decent launch on the street?i lowered the tire pressure to 30psi probly too high, reved it up to about 2k, let the clutch out and hit the gas hard, but not WOT by any means, and i just spun and spun and spun. fun yes
, fast no
. i tried launching from a lower rpm to keep the wheels attached, but the HSR has NO low end, so its a total pig untill about 2200, so i got traction, but didnt really go all that fast. tried to be easyer with the gas and clutch, but again rpms got too low and it was a pig off the line. i have full sphon rear setup, except lca relocation brackets which are coming soon, and newish shocks/struts, falken z-rated tires. its frustrating with all of these "good" parts, i should have a much better launch available to me, but i cant seem to get it, what am i doing wrong? i know its probly human error

If you want to launch with any power, Ive got two words for you:
DRAG RADIALS
Those were the best addition I made to my car so far.

Re: WooHoo!!! Late night drive! learning to launch...
When I was running street tires I could launch in 2nd gear and just smoke em up. I added the DRs and I can still spin the tires but not even close to what it would do with street tires.
Low rpm launch = slower because of being under the powerband
Higher rpm launch with a lot of tire spin = just need more tire.
