my iroc vs. jetta (i think)

this stupid 17yr.old kid keeps riding my a ## around town. revving it up past my house at night to the point i am sick of it. why he wants to race me is beyond me. all i know is it is a four door pretty square looking and i'm pretty sure it a jetta, but not completely. and it is a 5 speed. he had one like it before ,but the guy beat him in a 92 laser.he crashed the first one. at least that is what i was told.well, did some research 1/4-it finishes 13.2,at 106 mph.1/8 8.6 at 84 mph ,and finally 0-60 in 2.1. never really ran mine b4 but i know its no slouch. also it is a 95 jetta.

Re: my iroc vs. jetta (i think)

Well before i had any of the little mods that i did to my car i beat my friend in his 2.0 jetta. Now the 2.0 comes with like 115hp the GLI has 180hp with a 1.8 turbo. So if you have tune port and any mods i say you should beat any stock jetta.

Re: my iroc vs. jetta (i think)

is it a 2.0 or a 1.8 T. if its a 1.8 you could be in some trouble because thats the bread and butter engine for vw. theres two of them running around in my town with only about 1500 in them and they are pushing 22lb of boost.

what engine are you running?

I have beaten 2 of these cars. If you are modded enough they shouldn't be that much of a problem.

not if you don't have the supporting mods to go with it. L05 only came in at 205fwhp IIRC. You can do that with the L03 with a good tune and a catback.

That souds fishy, your research. 2.1 seconds to sixty, and only a 13.2. A Z06 does 3.8 and runs in the 11's with a good driver. Something doesn't add up with that. If you hit sixty in 2 seconds, but only run an 8.6 it takes you 6.5 seconds to gain 20mph.

Where did you et those times from?

Re: my iroc vs. jetta (i think)

A stock 1.8T is a solid 15.0-15.3 car. When you mod them the ET doesnt really drop too much, but the trap speed starts increasing pretty well. I beat one with almost all the boltons with my mild L98 from a dig. Then I raced my GLI against a L03 and flat out destroyed it. But mine had a few boltons.

Dont think that just because its a 4 cylinder its a automatic win. Especially when you have a L03.

Remember, I've had L03, L05, L98, and a H/C/I 358 in my RS. I have also owned a GLI with a good bit of mods. I've pushed several VW's into the 300's a handful into the 400's and 2 into the 550's. ALL of them were street driven with great manners.

Re: my iroc vs. jetta (i think)

if he wants to race you, tell him take it to the track.. race him and if you win you win, if you lose, you lose.. what do you have to lose?? if you lose, tell him to celebrate all he wants, he just beat the slowest sports car gm ever made.. and go make some friends with other 3rd gens and they will back you up.. if i was there, i would line up for some action..

or if you really dont want to race, get the plates and file a report with the police.. i believe it could be harassment.. if he comes by often, get a video camera and record it.. solid evidence is the best proof.. but worse case scenario would be a fine and maybe a restraining order..

interestingly, the fastest thirdgen in the world is a V6. Though, i'm guessing at 1500hp, it sounds pretty badass none-the-less.
