got a buddy from wyoming coming down to visit in his new ride, a just finished ls6 swapped 88 iroc prject. his mods are:

thats it.

now i know you all saw the word "bug" and started giggling but please take a look at my sig and look at what kind of numbers i put down on a strip. ill give exact times if asked for (provided i can find my latest time slips) and ill also go into engine detail to explain my bug is by no means slow.

now he wants to race my bug in a quarter with his new baby and insists his car will walk on me.. i admit it should be close but my bug is fast enough to beat procharged vettes i dont think he will crush me what do yall think?

I'd be interested in seeing video of this as well. Also, if you could post or pm me with the specs on the mods to the beetle I would appreciate it. I have a 74 Super to restore for my wife and she wants me to make it a bit faster than stock for her.

 

ill be sure to post results i usualy always do when i put up these typs of questions.. as for a video im not sure how well it will work out being i dont have a passenger seat in my bug its sort of occupied by a large nos bottle atm. so take video will not be possible unless we can find someone to ride in his iroc.

as for stats on the bug ill pm you sometime tomorrow with a list of things done.. ill let you know now if she is just looking for some ***** my set up isnt the way ive got a complete strip build on the motor only reason it only runs 11s is cuz i have all stock metal on it and huge 19 inch rims weighin 20 tons a peice my car was built for track use only im just crazy enough to take it onto the street.. id be happy to send you a great build for low bucks that will have your super beetle beating hondas and still get their renouned 40mpg

 

I'd appreciate that chaoz28, thanx. I have to finish the V8 swap in the Camaro and have a lot of body work to do on the Beetle before I can tear into the engine so its going to be a while till I get to it, but I'm trying to learn and gather as much information on them as I can. I had originally thought about swapping in the V6 from my Camaro as it still runs strong at 105k miles, but I'm not sure I want to go through the hassle of putting in the radiator and cooling hoses.

 

well he just got down here today n hes stayin for a week.. we are going to cruise friday night n see what happens...

but he gets here and he goes "btw i had it chipped tuned and put full msd including 7al box... now im think hes got me.. i drove it and it's just a freaking animal he also failed to mention the t56 is coupled with a 12 lb flywheel and a 4 puck clutch... i didnt even know they made this stuff for t56... it shifts like a beast and hes got 275 35 18 pirelli tires on it that grip better than any street tire ive felt.... honestly i know its got me but im counting on spray to get me through..
