Rear Mount Turbo.....

Anybody see the Rear Mounted Firebird on TV tonite?

It wasn't a ThirdGen (sorry) but it kinda shows what the system can do.....
It was a stock Grey/Silver 1997-99 Trans Am
12.5 @ like 120 or something???? (I don't think that he said how much boost)

Tell me someone else saw that!!!!!

It raced And spanked a Grey/Silver BMW M3 running 22lbs boost in the "COMBO ROUND" the BMW ran a 14 or something so the guy obviously got out of it.

Anybody see that.......?

Re: Rear Mount Turbo.....

Was an awesome episode full of GM vehicles, minus the BMW (and any others I may have missed in the beginning).

Seemed kind of slow to me for having a turbo, though. Maybe it was Comcast's broadcast? :P

Re: Rear Mount Turbo.....

That was on "Pass Time".

It was funny when they asked the dude how much hp he was running with that boosted M3 and he was like "600".

When the turbo'd LS1 proceeded to put 2 buslengths on that M3 from start to finish I wanted to reach through the TV and ring that dumbass beemer drivers neck!

Regardless, I thought the turbo'd LS1 would have pulled off better than a mid 12 though.

Re: Rear Mount Turbo.....

That's pretty much what a bolt-on LS1 camaro will pull, isn't it? It should have at least been in the 11s. On the show after that, the guy with the black camaro had bolt-ons (looked like top end work, too) and tune and hit 11.95, IIRC.

Re: Rear Mount Turbo.....

come on guys, ET is dependant on traction, while mph is the real indicator of power produced

12.5 at 120mph means the car had serious traction issues cause it was making serious power. no bolton LS1 is going to trap anywhere near that

Re: Rear Mount Turbo.....

I thought the trap speed was awsome!!!!!
Isn't that the way alot of turbo cars perform anyway...? A little slow out of the hole and pick up speed like a mother...!

I'm still thinking about doin a RMT!!!!!
