Vortec 357 vs. 03' Porsche Boxster

So I was cruising along and saw this Bright yellow Porsche i decide to pull up behind him to see if he'll get on it in front of me. No luck, so the next light is red and i pull up beside him and the light turns green, so he rolls into it and punches it as i do the same the 357's 4 barrels open and she roars too life and reels him back in like a stroll in the park... When he punched it he was a length ahead, by the time i hit the end of first the front of his car was at my side and then nailed 2nd and he fell back a length. Then i figured i put the hurt on bad enough and got off of it( had him by at least 2-3 lengths by 50 mph. Stopped at the next light and he says " Yea its only got a couple hundred horsepower". I told him it was still a nice car and then the light turned green and we drove off parted ways and that was it. Pretty cool guy but i was pretty stoked to put a Porsche kill under my belt.

He could probably beat most thirdgens, though.

He got unlucky enough to run into a non L03/LG4 car.

OK and? We're talking about a $30K performance car that's over 20 years newer. It damn well better beat most 3rdgens...it still doesn't mean that the Boxter is fast. It's a flaming POS. It's nice to hear one got dusted.

In comparison to other Porsches/other performance cars its a POS lol But they only weigh about 2700-2800 lbs. decently light compared to mine at 3680lbs with me in it! lol He looked kinda startled i beat him too lol They are probably a mid 14 sec car stock... not terrible, but for a Porsche it is.

Thank you for seeing my point, lol. A mid 14 second car is really slow in general...it's even worse for a Porsche

It is easy to see that the boxster is not the best porsche, I watch alot of Top Gear and if you hear what they say about the Coxster, you wouldn't be suprised that a built camaro beat it, Coxster limited to about 168mph, open diff., not quite 300hp.

I was just sayin the guy has probably beaten plenty of other thirdgens. he's not out of his mind for trying to give the guy a run. He was just unfortunate to actualy run up on a thirdgen that's actually got a decent lump of iron in the front.

And to the OP, I thought your motor blew up?

lol at the motor, but really hed beat most stock head to head, thats just advancements in technology period. a lotta cars could beat original 3rdgens now a days, but a lot of 3rdgens are no longer stock lol

It never "Blew up", a chunk got taken out of the top of one of the pistons and the guy who does my machine work said it was probably a manufacturer defect in the casting. But i had new pistons pressed onto the rods and its all good now. Runs good, my next step is probably going to be using the roller equipment from my old L03 to upgrade from flat tappet to roller...

True that! That 357 definatley is not stock, alot more work done to that third gen than done to that Porsche. It's not like its a fast Porsche either, like i said be for its more of a budget Porsche if the guy was looking for fast should have bought a 911 or a Caymen S, he would have gave that third gen a run for his money.
