Got to see a disappearing SS tonight

Well I finally got out for a little test and tune with the laptop tonight and had an LS1 SS get behind me getting onto the interstate. I wasn't looking to really get into hardcore drag race down the interstate, just wanted to prove one thing. That I wasn't some "15.5 sec thirdgen" that he may be used to seeing. So I'm on it pretty hard getting on the ramp, and at the end, go to make a 3-4 shift around 110 or so, BUT I felt my foot drift off the clutch and towards the brake so I couldn't hit it real fast like I wanted, so as I'm getting my foot back on and holding about 6k for a second and a half while I do, I look back in my rear view and he was gone. I figured that he didn't wanna play at all and was WAY back, until he slowed down a little and then I had realized where he had gone to. He was so close to me that his headlights were too far below my hatch, that all that was in my mirror was black windshield (about 10:30pm) so I really couldn't even tell that he was there at all. It's really not a kill story, I was just trying to prove my point above. Just wanting him to work hard to keep up with a thirdgen, since most of those guys seem to feel all high and mighty and think that they can spank thirdgens at half throttle. Which I think I did, cause he did eventually go by me as I let off some, and I could still hear him on it pretty good to go by. I gotta admit, it was pretty fun letting those guys think they've got an easy "meal", then make them put it to the wood to stay up and then go by.

Well...most third gens are slow. I can normally spot a fast one or one that has had work though. Good kill or show...whatever it was. Your car looks clean.

Yes, it's a good feeling when you can run w/ other faster cars. I love pullin on LS, and LT cars and romping them. It's good to have some real power under the hood.....

Yeah, it is for sure. I just kinda wish that it wasn't a one lane ramp, lol. Couldn't really get to see who'd pull on who that way. And by the time we we merged on the intestate, the needles were already pointing at 2 o'clock with too much traffic to continue. Even though I would have really loved to

That's why I love mine, completely stock looking, the only way you'd know is if you close and heard the whine.

To the OP, nice...feels good to have a quick car doesn't it?
