IROC vs Civic vs Eclipse
Last night on my way back from my girlfriend's house around 1:15am, I was passed (casually) by both a civic (in classic ***** trim - half finished body kit, fake hid's, loud exhaust, pipes scraping the ground on every small bump, giant wing, etc) and a stock looking Eclipse. I believe the Civic was late 90's and the Eclipse was around an 00-01 model. I let them pass by and watched as they pulled up beside eachother ahead of me. I lowered my window a bit to hear when the Civic gassed it, and when they punched it, so did I (this is about 55mph or so). I started back behind them by about 2 bus lengths in third gear. By the time I hit 4th, which is about 85mph, I was only a couple cars behind both of them (they were dead even). I had to let off so I didn't rear end them, but an exit lane came up... hehe. I slammed back into the throttle
, opened back into the secondaries, and absolutely flew past them topped out in 4th
, put it in 5th for about half of the gear and then let off. If you've ever seen the video on youtube where two slow civic ricers are racing through town for a bit, and then are passed in the two-way turn lane by a convertible Cobra, I'm sure that's what it was like for them.

Re: IROC vs Civic vs Eclipse
Don't ask me why but the video is just so wicked to me. I love the Terminators but I'd pick a LS powered car over one any day of the week.
It's awesome how not even a second after the Nissan passes them, the chase is on. Camera car is a stock mid 12 second car... the orange Cobra pulls on the camera car like it's not even moving!

Cant wait tell I get an little older, would love to start an f-body (may increase to mustangs, vettes, etc.) only pac that cruises every say friday night, weather permitting. Not necissarly looking for races, just having a good time going to say the Coast or what ever.

Stupid thing is - I had a video camera mounted in the car at the time, I just forgot about it =/ It's a suction cup mounted to the t-top glass - works great. I keep it in there for just such occasions haha. Oh well.

Re: IROC vs Civic vs Eclipse
Yeah, it works great. I use to have a mount that mounted to the seat headrest, but the vibration was too much from that and the camera wasn't high enough. I opted to grab a suction cup camera mount and haven't looked back since. Vibrations are gone with this setup and the video is nice and stable. The camera can be mounted on any of the glass surfaces in the car, or the metal outside the car. I use small Xacti 720P handheld-flip camera, but it will hold heavier cameras as well.

Re: IROC vs Civic vs Eclipse
haha thats great. i have friends who have vtec civics and they never learn. they always try to race me knowing theyll lose and i just toy with them. ill stomp second and pass him before i even start hooking up hit 3rd and let off and let him catch me again. then do it AGAIN. its like dude give it up and stop wasting my gas. i have a dohc vtec civic for a daily driver and yeah its a fun little car that i can put cheap gas in a drive to work but i mean common now, no torque vs enough torque to pull town a house? gee i wonder which will win?? lol

HAHAH that car vtec vid was awesome. I have so many ricers in my area. Not to be racist but im surrounded by ****** in brooklyn and they all,and by all i mean everyone of them owns a *****. All night long you hear leaf blowers going by until 3-4 in the morning then they stop. I beat the russian bmw dicks all the time. Haven't raced a ***** yet.
Re: IROC vs Civic vs Eclipse
Most 3rd Gen. owners don't do that because it's alot of organizing to do that and from my experience it's been downright hard to get any 3rd Gen. owners around my town to go out driving together with.

well in a bunch of small towns strewn together to form what we so lovingly call "Methingham County" you figure they would focus on the meth labs and not the firebird cruising at the speed limit just because he looks "suspicious"

Re: IROC vs Civic vs Eclipse
Ive always loved the pack drivin but there arent really any thirdgens in my area so our pack normally consists of my 3rd gen, a 4th gen SS, Mustang GT, 2 SRT-4s, a few lifted trucks, and a 5.4L prochargerd Ford Boss pickup.
Now in springfield, Mo they have a giant pack of racers that all roll together. Something like 30 cars made of Mustangs, Camaros, Corvettes, SRT-4s, WRX, all together a wide variety of modded vehicles drag racing down through the middle of town.

It was on christmas and i was in my house hosting a huge party. It happened while i was cooking. I'm waiting to catch some dick. I bought cameras to install. I'm a psycho when it comes to my car. Haha mostly everyone's first car is a basketcase. People will try to rob anyones car as long as it looks good.

Re: IROC vs Civic vs Eclipse
haha, everyone needs a good laugh now and then. No harm done. Not gay..(Not that there's anything wrong with it) Although people can argue that it's natures way of purging out the weak genes.... And to relate this to topic ricers are like automotive gays. They get weeded out because of their weak 4 cylinders and to fit in they conform to the v8s by putting turbos and superchargers and thats why they get blown up.

Damn, crazy story. You were rather calm. What an *******. Did he really think he was gunna win? One time chinese parked in my car port blocking it off and i was taking my TA out and i come back and this ***** is parked in my driveway. I ask him nicely to move his car and he gives me this dumb look. So, i tell my dad to come out and he's huge 6'5 guy.Asks him to move. Still doesn't move. I get pissed cause im wasting gas. I take a tire iron from my trunk and whack his rear corner panel. The ***** flew off never to come back. Bottomw line is people are fukin morons. I'm glad you stuck up for yourself. A columbian girl i used to know lives in fort hood and goes to culinary school down there. Said it's a nice place.

Yeah, good point. Another great but crazy story. That's an old sniper(well without scope just a rifle) I wish we could carry weapons up in NY. The people here are like animals anyway. Would be like shooting wild bucks in a concrete jungle. I hate it here.

OP, good job showing them up!
My brothers old 3.1 5 speed camaro lost to my buddies 94 civic that he put the weakest VTEC motor ever made into. Not sure what VTECs your racing to beat with a 2.8!
A 1911 is a pistol, not a rifle......and a bad @** one at that! I prefer the colt version though.

Where do you get the mounts from?
