This was just a quick fun race friday night. My brother hasn't raced anyone yet so he wanted to see how the new combo stacked up to a freinds 08 GT with intake, exhaust, and tune. My brother was shifting low at 5K rpm since we havn't had a chance to get the new combo tuned on a dyno yet. Cam is good to around 6200 or so. Stang was shifting a little low as well around the same rpm. My brother just waited for us to go first in the stang and then he took off.

My brothers trans am has a 10.7:1 350, procomp 210cc heads, howards 234/244 cam, 750 mechanical secondary carb, and a T56 tranny.

Hey his car sounds good. Nice to see a thirdgen take it. Im getting sick of these stories and videos of thirdgens getting smoked haha. Way to go.

 

So were me and my brother lol. Thats why were building 2 fast ones....to show everyone around here that they aren't all slow. Although if you were at a light next to my brothers car, theres no way you'd think it sounded stock, haha!

i get that all the time to... people try to race me only to loose... we gotta show these new cars what thirdgens are made of lol..... if only these people knew how much money i spent on making my car the way it is now they would see why that had no chance in the first place...

 

Stock for Stock a 08 GT *would* beat any Thirdgens besides the TTA and Firehawk. Unlike the earlier SN-95A cars with the first 4.6L motors the later mod motors are much better.

I'd rather do it in a thirdgen, but I won't knock them.

You are correct about that. While the 4.6 3 valve motors are no new 5.0, they do hold thier own. I ran a 13.5 @ 104 mph in my intake/exhaust 08 GT before I sold it on street tires. They are pretty quick for what they are.
