what will it take?
A friend of mine has a 68 charger done up like the general lee and he thinks its the fastest thing on earth lol. i helped him put it together its got a more or less stock 383 big block mopar .442/.465 214/224 112lsa cam 1 7/8 primary headers weiand intake edelbrock 600 carb tci 727 transmission and 2200 converter with 2.76 open rear. i get very irritated mainly cause he constantly says it will beat just about everything when it barely pulled on my full bolton 03 SUBURBAN. since dont have the Trans Am complete yet to put him in his place what will it take to make my 92 z28 pull on this thing? mine stock internal lb9 has air foil timing at 10deg btdc 3in magnaflow cat and magnaflow catback and vette servo. other wise the car is bone stock with 2.73 posi rear. i know gears will help me alot as will headers ect. i prefer to race from a dig but with both cars having horrible gears would a 20-30roll be better? im still new to the tpi setups and on a learning curve still. he was gona try to race me tonight i waited for him cruising around 30 and he never got next to me then he just cruised by like nothing was gona happen and bam he nailed it when his rear bumper was at my door. imo i believe he is scared of being beat by a stock high mileage 305 car. ill post results when it happens i work with him also so most likely something will happen.

Just run'em and find out. If you lose, so be it. Just make it faster for next time
I'd imagine you'll pull away from him though if he can hardly go around a Suburban.

Re: what will it take?
yeah thats what im thinking. i really havent planed on doing much motor wise to this car until the lb9 pukes. im mainly setting this one up to dd and auto-x. the suburban or yukon xl that i drive is 5.3 3.73s 6000lb has vete servo hd2 shift kit cai longtubes ory custom magnaflow 3in exhaust and tuned by nelson performance. anyway the way i see it if i get beat no big deal im in a stock 250k 305 powered 3rd gen with 2.73s lol and have like 3-4k in it vs his 22k in his car. either day i win.

Re: what will it take?
I'm guessing he would run anywhere from 9.7-10.0 in the 1/8 since my yukon ran 10.5 when it was stock with just an intake and with mods I have on it now it should be in the 9.8-10.0 range. I'd like to get time to take my camaro to the track but most of the tnts are on fridays and I work second shift. I'm not really sure what the average lb9 auto car runs. I think we should be pretty even but still considering he has headers stall cam ect against my catback only car lol.

Re: what will it take?
well coming from a guy who also owns a 68 charger, mine is 440 with bolt ons and cam. the 2.76 gear really hurts his car, but compared to your car with also the same gear. If the engine is running good. (thier are always variables) But it should beat you. but for instance my 440 with 3.91's and bolt on. stock engine with intake, carb, headers, cam. did a best of 13.7 in the 1/4 mile.
he needs to get rid of that edelbrock carburetor!

Re: what will it take?
yeah the way i figure it for me to get a known win id have to with gears and a mild converter atleast. i told him if he wins he will have to come out to the next auto x and see how he stacks up there lol. i need to get on the ball and finish the trans am im tired of being slow in a straight line
