I agree, the option of having a camaro, mustang or challenger is great seeing as 3-5 years ago the options were not available! I think we all wish we had the problem of choosing which $35-40k car we wanted!

Re: Big bad 5.0
Since I worked at Advance Auto and had one guy there who owned a cobra, I have grown to hate them. All his friends had one and it was just mustang talk all the time. Then I got to college and ran into an old friend and lone be hold, he had one. All he did was rant and rave about them. Yes, they can be built up real nice just like any other car. Yes the newer ones beat out the newer camaros. Even with all the facts out there to prove it, I will still never own one. I would rather pay the 45k for the ZL1 and be happy than to spend less on a mustang. Just how I feel about them.

I wouldnt say that the new camaro walks on a 05-10gt my 09 gt/cs doesnt seem to have much trouble with automatics and yes I have been beat by the 6 speed but its not to they really get moving 80 plus before they start to pull and all I have is an intake a tune and gears and everyone saying that the zr1 is the car to buy I am not even sure if it will be able to get with the 2012 gt500 as the 11 gt500 is quicker than the previous years and has dramtically increased its handling charatrisics the only problem my dad has with it is not spinning like crazy on the launch. The new Challenger with the 392 is fast as well and the interiors of both the new mustang and challenger put the caramo's to shame

Nothing wrong with that. Sometimes you like vehicle A better than vehicle B and you may not have any real reason for it. This does not make the other choice **** just because you can't get over your bias.

You may like these other cars better, but what you like and what is technically true are very separate issues.
Well this type of bias is obviously not based on anything technical and purely stems from a Ford / Mustang hatred. This is fine so long as you can acknowledge this is the reasoning behind it. There are some cars I don't like regardless of how well they perform. The new Charger is a perfect example of that. I hate it. I love the classic Charger but the new one is a hideous sedan. It's probably one of the best cars in it's class from a performance stand point but I still hate it.

For those that are so caught up in the new Camaro being stupid fast, lol...wake up and smell the roses. The 392 6.4 Challenger will absolutely anhilate any stock 5th gen camaro and the new 5.0 mustang with a good driver can hold its own against GMs mighty 6.2.
I spent one evening at Kennedale back in June of 2010 waxing a 6.2 SS Camaro six times that night with a nearly stock quad cab Hemi Ram (long tubes, exhaust, & tune). He could not break a 9.60 1/8 mile and I was running 9.4x all night against him. I have slips hanging around somewhere and probably still have the video to prove it.

Re: Big bad 5.0
haha this is ancient. I mean, while we're on the subject, a local hellcat on a tune made 700 something bone stock to the wheels. It's all a matter of perspective, how fast you go depends on how much money you want to spend.

Bought my 2017 Lightning Blue Mustang GT w/Performance Pack for $32k. I did my research on the Challenger, Mustang and Camaro and there is no doubt in my mind that the S550 is the better car overall. Price and compare a Scat Pack, 1LE and Performance Pack and you will see what I am talking about.

Re: Big bad 5.0
My friend has a new Mustang GT 5.0 track pack and it went 13.7 @ 108 bone stock. The next run the half shaft broke and I had to trailer it home.
By comparison, my other friend with a Callaway Silverado crew cab went 13.2 on the speed limiter @ 90 mph. Other friend with Pontiac G8 LS3 + tune went 13.0 @ ???.
You're in for a rude education when you run your first C6 Camaro because you're going to get waxed. Time to break out the checkbook, bud.

I rode in my friends newer Camaro ZL1 over the holidays. I can tell you it is an untamed beast! Have no idea what it will turn 1/4 but it is scary fast out on the open highway my knuckles were white when I got out of it.

I raced a 5.0 Mustang the other day on the highway. Was pretty fun to hear a pair of 7,000 rpm DOHC V8s dueling it out. From a 60mph roll until I choose to let off the 5.0 Mustang LOST ground the whole way. Everytime the 5.6 gets pulled down into the 4,500-5,500 rpm range the torque output just pulls past what the 5.0L can muster. 7spd auto is also geared deeper and closer than the 6spd of the Mustang.
